I am thinking of getting myself a provari for my own Christmas gift and a close to one year anniv. of no stinkies.
was wondering if any of the finishes are to stay away from. is the chrome ok or should I go with a color or SS ?
Does the color finishes wear off?

I have 3, Blue, Pink and White. Got the Blue in July, the Pink in August, and the White on Cyber Monday. The Blue looks as good as the day I got it, the Pink also. The White is, obviously, pristine. Bear in mind, I use them pretty much everyday, YMMV.

Get what you like, if there is any wear down the road, you can always put a wrap on it.

The finish CAN chip or scrape - but it is probably the "toughest" you'll find.

But there's no "chrome" - (not in a new one, there USED to be a chrome I think) - the shiny one is polished stainless!

The Polished SS has no finish on it at all, and is beautiful, IMO... I had a satin and the finish wore off over a LONG time, have seen the same with old V1 blacks...

Obviously as with anything with a finish, the better you care for it and protect it the less likely it will fade or chip on you.

I currently have a Red, and even through a couple of alarming falls, it's still chip free

That is the great thing about owning a ProVari! If they get ugly then they can be refinished! My Hubby bought a pink one used and sanded it down to metal. Looks great!

Yes... Every ProVari is Stainless Steel under the finish... So with a little effort, you could turn any ProVari into a Polished SS ProVari, or a brushed SS... Or whatever flavor of SS you want!

I went with the Zombie Edition. The Green with red blood splatter was intriguing to me, and I love it. I purchased a clear J-Wraps to protect the paint job, and love it. I did have to get used to the new texture of the Provari, but that took all of five minutes. An added bonus was that I didn't know J-Wraps includes a second wrap for free. I was expecting just a single Provari protector, and was surprised to get a second in the envelope.

They're Cerakote, the same thing being use on guns.

If you're into all black, look at the Provari's made for Vapor Force. I love mine.

I was more worried that the SS might show finger prints and smudges, but I guess not. I like the brushed gray look on the one....but also like the look of the black one.....decisions man.

Some say the polished does show fingerprints and smudges, but it's nothing a soft cloth or even your shirt tail can't handle. Scratches can also be buffed out with that one, as apposed to the others.

Oh, TELL me about the decisions! I spent DAYS trying to figure it out... even posted a new thread about it here, and changed my mind mid thread. Still, it was worth it as I finally just decided to heck with possible scratches, I was going to order what called to me, and ended up with a wonderful black and blue.

Hell just pick the color you want at the moment. You'll eventually have more than one, we all do.
