Boge carto burnt but great on tank?

I've been using sr 3ohm boge cartos and no matter how wet I try to keep them wet, they seem to get that burnt taste within a very short time. Of course there is no going back from that point. That burnt taste will not go away.

However, when I get a fresh carto, fill it with 25 drops, punch holes, then use it with a tank, they say fresh and saturated. No burnt taste!

Seriously, is it pointless to use cartos by themselves? I've used the condom method to fill, constantly adding drops from the top, from the threaded end, whatever. I've filled them from the top, blowing it into the filler, let them sit for hours to absorb, you name it. They will not stay saturated without a tank which is pretty frustrating.

Could it be I'm using too much voltage? I'm running my boge 3ohm carots at 4.8 volts on my provari which ends up being about 8 watts. I have to figure out how to use these cartos or buy myself some more tanks!

Running at 8 watts, you'll need to check and top off your carto every couple of hours, perhaps more often if you are a heavy vaper. Hope that helps some.

Love my tanks and can't imagine ever going back to doing without them.
