So I rx'd my Provari a week ago and I'm digging it, but I need some help from the vets out there with my setup. Currently I'm using punched Boge 3.0 ohm cartos in an Arry ACTv4 tank until the new Vapemates come in. I am not impressed with the Boge's longevity, but it might be user error. I started with single-punched Boge 3.0's and was getting 5- 10 ml of vaping out of them. I was topping these off by just unscrewing the top of the tank and adding juice. Then I started with the dual-punched cartos for a better draw and the lifespan started going downhill (E1/E4 errors). I grew frustrated today when I go through the ritual of a new tank setup with a brand new dual-punched carto and I proceed to the first glorious vape - "E1." What a drag! I dismantle my tank, clean up the cartomizer a little bit, stick it directly in my Provari and it works like a charm. What am I doing wrong? I know there are more variables here. To name a few, I use the condom method on all new cartos in my tank and I'm vaping on Boba/Gorilla which is 100% VG and hard to deal with. If anybody can pick up on what I'm doing wrong or explain to me how they extend the life of Boge cartos in their Provari, I would appreciate it.

I vape Bobas and GJ with my boge 2.0 carto. The trick for me is to dremel slots in both sides of the carto and this lasts me a week or so. I do the same with the 3.0 ohm boges.I fill the carto up a little to prime it then the tank. I only got an error once in 4mnths. The cartos you got error with were they the pre punched DCC? The 1.5 ish ohm ones will give you an error at any higher than like 4.1v or so.

I found that I was having issues with my Arry also in the beginning. I was going through a carto every day. E1 messages, E2 messages. I didn't have that issue with any other tank, so what was the deal? I finally pinned it down. For me, the tank is really heavy on the end of the ProVari in comparison to other tanks. When it was wiggling around in my pocket, it would loosen on the threading. I was tightening it down too far when adjusting it back. It actually causes the carto end to take the abuse and break. I found that by just not tightening it down as much, did the trick. Now it lasts just as much as my others do.

I have no idea why it works that way, I wouldn't have thought with the adapter it would. I could also take it out of the tank and it would fire. Sometimes. Might just have something to do with the adapter, not really sure. Hope this helps you out. If it isn't that - I got nothing.

The adapter in the ACTV4 is the culprit. The little screw protrudes just enough to cause a mod to short if you over tighten the tank.

After I posted last night, I realized it has to be something to do with the adaptor. Have either of you tried to use a regular 510-510 extender or pipe thread tape to tighten up the fit? I fiddled with the screw this morning and it turns, but I don't think it's moving. Hairball - do you know if the short is coming from the battery or carto side of the contact? I thought the screw was the component carrying the current. Too many questions...Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Now I know who to contact with questions.
