I usually use vivi nova tanks but wanted to try something else so I bought a Boge F16 tank and filled up the inside along the sides w/o getting in the middle part and filled up the tank. I waited and then tried to hit it, it didn't produce a hit but tasted burnt. I assumed that it wasn't filled up enough inside so I filled the filler more, I finally got like two hit and then no vapor again. I looked at the filler and it looks dry again, so I am assuming it's not seeping through the prepunched holes. I have read great things about these and am at a loss. This is my first venture into this kind of tank. BTW I am using 65/35 pg/vg so I assume that the liquid isn't the culprit.

I only use the F-16 cartomizers and tank and I am very pleased with them. I know exactly what you are saying about the nasty, burnt plastic taste from the first hit, the same thing happened to me. I think that it is caused by two factors; machining oil and the coil not being wet enough with initial firing. Once you get the burnt taste you need to throw the cartomizer in the trash, nothing I have found will remove the taste.
Here is what I do to avoid problems: 1) wash the cartomizer in vodka and blow it out into a paper towel to dry, 2) fill the carto with it off the battery either with a syringe or dripping from a bottle until it starts to weep out of the holes on the side, 3) Give the carto time to adsorb the e-liquid (I usually wait for about 15min), 4)If you flooded the carto you will need to blow it out a little into a paper towel, 5)Install tank, fill, and vape away.

I have had no problems when I follow these steps. Again, if you have burnt a carto you need to throw it away and start with a new carto.

Im very particular when Im priming a tank carto for the first time. I fill it up and let it sit overnight and then when I fill the tank I add a few more drops and let it sit in the tank for an hour or so. Before you hit the button for the first time take a few puffs without pushing the button to make sure the coil is good and saturated.

I have also found when i want to switch flavors all you have to do is cut the top part of the little plastic covers that come with the carto and slip that over the holes and then I put the rubber mouthpiece back end and put the other plastic cover over that. Then I put the carto on the bottle of juice with a rubberband. This is pretty helpful if you rotate through a lot of flavors like I do.

Did you fill your cartomizer first before putting in the tank? They need to have at 20 to 30 drops before the tank.
