Boge LR Punched & 40/60

I just started using carto tanks this past week.
I like the flavor better than the Evods/Protanks I used for about a year.
It's almost as good as my R91/KFL+s with cotton that I've used for the past month and a half.

Problem is I don't have experience and hate wasting gear.
I got a Kir Fanis Prive Special in a deal so I drove down to MadVapes Worcester yesterday.
I got a SmokTech unpunched and punched it twice with a nail.
It worked pretty good for about 4ml but started tasting kind of rank.
I looked down in and it looked dry so I topped it off but I think the damage was done.

I received the Boge LR punched cartos I had already ordered in today's vapemail so I primed and waited.
Now I'm vaping some DIY Cinnamon Roll and it's working alright.
I topped it off after about 15 minutes of heavy vaping and it absorbed about 15 drops no problem.
Those were needle top bottle drops BTW.
Shouldn't it have been more saturated than that?

Can the 2 lil 1mm punched holes feed 40/60 PG/VG or should I enlarge them/punch a third?
From what I read it seems they should be enough but what's your experience with 40/60, 35/65 or 30/70?

Why are you topping off a punched carto? The whole concept behind the punched cartos is that you don't have to. The juice feeds through the punched holes.

The carto will always look dry on top, that's normal. I mainly use 50/50 juice so the prepunched cartos of Ikenvape, smoktech, and boge work well with no problem. I don't think 40/60 should give you any problems. When it comes to boge I have had better success with the 1 large prepunched hole than the 2 prepunched small holes. Also the sloted bogos work well too.

I topped it off to see how saturated, or not, it was.
It sucked down 15 needle top drops.
I thought it would be more saturated than that from the punched holes.

Ok I see the problem. Make sure the carto is well primed from the start. You see, if it was well primed and you added those 15 drops then the ejuice would have leaked from the bottom of the carto. Once fully primed then the punched holes take into effect as you start vaping drawing ejuice as required into the carto. Hope this helps

I also take dry hits now and then to top it off. Left on its own the top of the filler wouldn't get saturated (not sure if it really needs to but feel better seeing it there). I use cheap Boge tanks which probably don't have the best vacuum and they need a bit of a manual override.

No need for the top to be saturated. Actually it will look very dry and that is normal. I have never had to take any dry hits then again I am using one of the best tanks out there, Ibtanked. If you like carto tanks then Ibtanked should be on your list of must haves.

I got my Slap Yo' Mama tank tool in the mail today. Good, simple tool.
I'm using a Lil Mama tank with 35/65 DIY Hawk Sauce and double punched Boge is keeping up with me.

Not a real steep ramp-up with these. Simple and efficient.
