I've tried them both and agree they are both the best out there. my experience is Boge hit very nice on the first fill and they go downhill wicking after that. at least for me. I pulled the filler out of one and i swear i could knit a sweater with it... it just kept coming and coming out. other ppl may have better luck with them. for throw aways they aren't bad, but long term they are not. at least for me.

the CE2's i've only tried the Fluxomizers from gotvapes. Other sites have them as clearomizers, but i can't speak for their quality control. gotvapes is good CS, shipping and price.

the reason i went with the clear ones is i've seen videos of steel CE2 cartridges with rust in the barrel after use. Kind of defeats the purpose of a cleaner vape by losing the filler and going with a tank.

the fluxo's are easily maintained and give a great hit every time. in vaping that's #1 for me. I don't like fiddling.

if i were you, i'd try both and decide which is most convenient and your favorite. They are both very good cartos.

JMHO, CE2R4's are very high maintenance and I had no luck getting them going (I was born with no patience), but those who have seem to love them. If you like to tinker you may want to give them a try. The clearomizers are a lot easier to get going and maintain and I find they can be refilled more times than the Boge's. I like being able to see when they are empty. With that being said, I really like the Boge's too, but I do find myself topping them up often (dripping in the top, don't need to carry around a syringe!) because I can't tell when they are empty and for a bit of a flavor boost.

EDIT: If it is the steel CE2's you are curious about, I can mail you one, and I could probably part with a boge too for you to try, if you want to hold off on ordering while waiting for my snail mail. But hands off the clearomizers, their all mine! lol.

Hi Krang!

First off, awesome choice with the ProVari. We're eagerly waiting on ours as we speak!

Secondly, you're getting good advice re: trying both. That's the only way you're really going to know how you feel about each, & which you prefer. But - speaking strictly to my own subjective experience - the CE2's suck, badly. And the Boges are wonderful.

Frankly, after my awful experience with the CE2 R4's, I have zero interest in even trying the 'clearomizers' or CE2 R5's etc etc. The Boges work great for me - why fix what isn't broken, right? They come in standard or low resistance. I plan on trying some of the LR ones at 3.7v on the ProVari, and the standard ones at higher voltages. I've been vaping with Boge cartomizers from day one to the present; I have no hesitation in recommending them to you. The key is, keep 'em wet. I would be happy to send you a PM with some more on them, if you like.

For what it's worth, ProVape sells the Boge cartomizers (in standard & LR), but doesn't sell CE2's. Anyway, yeah...try both (a 5 pack of each, no large orders of either until you've experienced them).

Happy vaping!

I tried the ce2's and the stormy tanks myself, but being the "power vaper" that I am they just couldn't keep up fast enough with the wicking. I was going to get the MAP tank to try, but its the same thing really, bust bigger.... so I went back to the 510's, dripping, VapeMate, and the Boge carto's.

Experimenting with personal preferences is key.. after all... we ARE doing this for "ourselves".

CE2's are ok, they have a bit better flavor than boges but an SR boge at 5 volts is almost vaping heaven for me (Too bad I busted my home-made 5V PT, haha)

I've been looking for more options when it comes to cartos and came across these;

Dual coil 1.5 ohm cartos? That sounds like a winner to me (But I am an LR guy anyway).

Honestly..... with a VV device I would just stick to standard less expensive (read: sales) atty's and use the device to adjust to your prefered wattage.

LR's are not really needed for VV 3.2v-->6v devices and more geared towards those wanting to vape at higher wattages (warmth) using a avg standard voltage.

Time for the electrical gurus to chime in. What type of current draw does a twin 1.5Ohm coil have on the battery?

I think they mean that the cartos have two coils, connected either in series or in parallel, offering a total resistance of 1.5 ohms (eg: your meter reads 1.5 ohms when you test the end of the carto)

Carto innards:
If it were 2 1.5 ohm coils connected in series, the battery would see a total load of 3 ohms, so that can't be the case. It could be two 0.75 ohm coils connected in series to make 1.5 ohms. If the individual coils are connected in parallel, they're probably 3 ohm coils each (adding resistance in parallel makes a lower total opposition to current flow - 3/2=1.5) but then there'd be the problem of insulating the coil leads from each other inside the carto, and the coils themselves taking up more space?

3.7 volts through 1.5 ohms of total resistance is 2.467 amps, assuming his battery can deliver that much current. Power consumed is 9.126 watts. Would be neat to see the innards of one of these!

These look really good, I used to be a big car audio enthusiast and I do know that on subwoofers some companies will use Dual coil resistances on their woofers for increased fiability, better performance and tighter control. Now I don't know how this affects atomisers in any way, but I am sure that if they are using them there is a reason.

Will probably be buying myself a pack to see how they work at 3.7 v

Personally I'm still on a never-ending search for the perfect carto. So far 510 Boge has been tops, although the best Boge is only good right out of the package. From that point on they are on a steady decline. I typically toss them after 2-3 days. I recently bought some 801 cartos (brand unknown) and 510>801 adapter. I would say that these are every bit as good as the Boge cartos. I'm using my first today, so staying power is not known yet.

My search recently took me into an experiment with Clearos and CE2's. The Clearos were a dismal failure, although I later found out that the total failure was because of the type of juice I attempted to use in them. But hell, if a type of juice (IE: apple, cinnamon, mint, citrus) is going to have an impact on something, I see no real reason to proceed further with that unit. My departure into CE2 world was only a single CE2- First issue is they are a PITA to fill. And since they are not clear, you really have no way to tell when it is full until it starts over flowing... But then I got 2 or 3 good tasting hits, and then it went straight to that dry carto taste. I loosened the inner seal so it could wick better, but still had the same issue- 2 good hits, then nasty dry taste. Then I would have to let it sit for a bit to get flavor back into the wick again. if I wanted to go thru this much effort I would just drip. I now have 4 new CE2's that are destined to the hall of shame shelf to collect dust.

Recently discovered Jumbo KR808's and bought a package of those (along with a 510>KR8 adapter). This thing holds a lot of juice, but my first use has been less then stellar. The verdict is still out on these, but so far it is not as good as the good old Boge cartos.

And the search continues...........

Hmm interesting read N2rock. There seem to be a whole lot of people who hate the CE2's.

I am kinda intrigued about your comments on the clearomizers .. I was hoping to grab a few up once they became available in Canada. So what kind of juice can you actually put in them ? I myself have big bottles of 100mg/ml nicotine coming to my place, which I plan to mix down to 20mg strength(mixture of pg/vg) and add some flavourart flavoring to it. Would this type of juice work in the clearomisers?

I have been looking into buying adapters also to try the 901 carts. I am also wondering if I could use a ego tank atomiser on my provari, since basically the Ego is a 510 plug.
