Hi everyone.

I have just been trying out different permutations of delivery system for E-juice on my various batteries. One of my favorites so far is a Boge XL SR cartomizer with a plastic drip-tip on my Ego-T 650 mAh standard battery. The flavor of the juice really shines and I get amazing vapor. The only issue is that now it makes an EXTREMELY loud crackling noise when it fires up, as compared to my regular Ego-T atty/tank setup. This is obviously not ideal for stealth vaping, and if I vape in bed it wakes up my husband (never happens with my 510 or GOGO batteries).

Some sites sell aftermarket Ego-T cones. If I buy one of these, will it muffle the sound somewhat? Do I just slip it over the carto and screw it in? Not sure if they are merely aesthetic.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I know you can get the cones from alot of sites. Some are generic after-market cones. They work, but don't have the nice black rubber coating. If you want that, you have to find a place that sells the Joye stuff.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a question. I recently got an eGo-T and am having some issues. May I ask why you switched from the tanks to the boges? I am considering the same thing...

I am not permanently switching...yet:p I am just new and playing with stuff. I must say though, that I have just acquired a new atomiser...this is the type B rather than the type A I originally had. I like it a lot better... cartridge/tank is bigger, and it seems to leak less. Draw is still on the tight side even if you mod the mouthpiece. But I would consider switching to type B if you don't like your type A. They both work on the battery but you need the matching tanks.

Having said that, if I can make my Ego-T look good with cartomizers and a cone, and if I can get it so it isn't so crackly, that may become one of my staple setups. The flavor and vapor is second only to my GOGO and it's easier to find spare parts. I do like the idea of a tank system, but I have e-liquid ADD and I love to switch around. And cleaning atomisers is verrrrry tedious:glare:

I'm new myself, and the eGo-t was my first purchase. My experience thus far has been kind of middling. I've been having this horrible harshness to the vape, and just can't seem to get rid of it, even with a new atomizer. The problem is, being that I am new, I don't really know what 'throat hit' is supposed to feel like. So I cant tell if this is just giving me throat hit, and I don't like it, or if this really is a harsh vape.

So, I just ordered an eGo cone and a 5 pack of Boge 510 cartomizers, and a drip the [if only for aesthetics]. I'm hoping it all comes in before the weekend. For all I know, I could setup the cartos, and it will be just as harsh, and I'll be back to tobacco for me. I really hope that is not the case, I want to make the switch.

Weird, my cartos get quieter over time. I only get that snap and crackle when they're new or almost new.

I just held an Ego up to my ear with and without the cone and fired it off -- glad nobody was around to see me, I would have gotten some weird looks. :) I, uh, maybe it was a little quieter? If I needed a new carto I'd try the experiment with one of those.
