I know that this is possible, as I spoke to a Bogger representative on the phone yesterday. However, I'd like a testimonial from a customer who's actually tried this.

Specifically, I'm looking to run a Bogger Midi (Midi Bogger Box) with a Kick. The Midi runs an 18500 battery.

So I come here asking a two things:

1. Has anyone ever owned a Bogger Midi? Did/do you like it, and how much battery did/do you get out of it?
2. Can anyone give a brief explanation on how to run the wire from the kick to the negative connection of a wood mod to get it to work? Is it safe? Does it sacrifice the life of the mod/battery/kick?

I got a Reo not a Bogger Box, but the setup is the same or similar. Wrap one side of the wire around the spring on the kick and attach the other end of the wire to the spring in the mod. On the Reo I just unscrewed the spring from the mod and placed the wire under the spring sandwiching the wire between the mod and the spring.

As for the rest of you questions. It shouldn't have a negative affect on the life of your mod, batteries, or the kick. It's just as safe as using a kick in a tube mod.

Battery life on a Bogger box should be about the same as an other unregulated 18500 mod. That is to say personally I need two to get through a day. An 18350 with a kick is another story altogether though. Without a kick I get 3-4 hours, but with a kick you're probably looking at more like 2-3 hours. Maybe less.

thanks for responding! the only other questions i have are:

1. What kind of wire did you use? Can it just be a strand of kanthal wire that you would use to wrap a coil?
2. Can you simply just wrap it around each spring? Or do you have to do something like solder?
3. In another thread, someone said they just taped some of this (   3M™ Roof and Gutter Repair Tape 3382 Silver, 1.88 in x 10.9 yd 4.2 mil, 12 rolls per case Individually Wrapped ) to the bottom of the inside of the mod where the kick touches, and that grounds it fine. what do you think of that?

1. You want to use an insulated wire of some sort. I just used a little bit of speaker wire I had laying around.
2. Yes, but you run the risk of lt coming loose and loosing connection. It will work tough.
3. That would work, but it could mess up the inside of your mod. If you ever want to take the tape out the stain and some wood might come out with it. I have also seen people run a strip of copper along the inside of the mod. A wire will give you the best most consistent connection though. If the kick doesn't have a good ground it can be finicky.
