I'm starting making my own juices and I was wondering if I could speed up the stepping process by heat.
I was thinking about placing some fresh ejuice in a sealed glass container and put it inside boiling water , or very hot water.
The molecules should speed up and all the ingredients should "fuse" better , right ? has anyone tested this ?

I'm trying to look it up but I want some scientific backup :)

Also I was thinking about boiling the liquid itself with the following theory : If I add 20% water and calculate the added volume in a container ( not sealed obviously ) , what would happen if I boil it until I lose 20% volume of the total liquid ? I'm following the logic where water evaporates first , and when I lose 20% volume into gas I can conclude it's water while the rest of the ingredients are not vaporized .. any logic in that ? hehe probably not ..

nicotine degrades with heat.. some people do float their bottles in warm to hot water, some use sonic cleaners. you can do either of those two methods, and you can also try burping the caps on the bottles for a few hours here and there. The alcohols and water with evaporate and allow the pg/vg and flavors to meld. The way to a faster steeped liquid is: 1. Shaking 2. Evaporation 3. Heat Which is why the supersonic cleaner apparently works so well. Search for it here on the forums.

First, there is a DIY sub on ECF here DIY E-Liquid

Second, why are you putting in water and then wanting to boil it out? None of the components I use mixing have an appreciable amount of water in them. (less than a fraction of 1%)

PG & VG, not because they are alcohols, but much like other alcohols have a lower boiling point than water. You can test this without any other equipment, just take an atomizer and drop water in it and see how much and how fast it boils compared to when you put PG and/or VG in the same atty.

Too much heat is not a good thing. Hot tap water is the hottest I would go for a steep bath. (Around 120 F)

As for the ultrasonic cleaner, there are 3 threads in the DIY sub where you can find more information. I would also highly recommend the sticky's at the top of the DIY sub. There is a wealth of information there too.
