Has anyone tried to boil off the ethanol in the eliquids. I hate having it there... and after researching the ingredients (dekang vg usa mix) i put the liquid in a glass container emersed in a boiling water bath for several minutes... ethanol should boil off at 78 oC.... the question is would anything cause it to bind to the liquid and remain... and should i be concerned about any thermal degradation of the other ingredients???

Here too not my realm of expertise, but I don't believe there would be too much ethanol in the liquids, if at all in USA Mix.

I thought the only place it would come from is the flavour used which is a very low percentage of the actual mix. A lot of the flavourings are also water based not alcohol based.

Could be wrong though....that's happened before!!!!

i checked out there dekang's website it said 10% acetylpyradine, ethanol
i contacted todd at vaperite some of his liquid does have ethanol
i also bought some from clouds of vapor bruce also said tht his liquid has ethanol

i dont know about the nicotine breaking down though .... i guess we need a chemist to haev a look

I think I understand you concerns mohsaf, maybe you could ask todd if he has a tobacco flavoured liquid that is based on the water-based flavours.

Other than that if you move to non-tobacco flavours, which most of us do, I'm sure you can get away from the ethanol. Two that come to mind are coffee & coconut but I haven't researched what the flavourings are based upon.

also think about it this way most nic gets burned away in analogs..... and the temperature in our atomisers isn't exactly low

From what I understand from the Modders forum, most of the atomisers are operating at 160-180 degrees. Can't recall if that C or F but the nicotine would be unaffected whether it was either.

For the most part, alcohol tends to increase the TH - some mixologists actually use or add vodka to their blends for that extra "kick", so if alcohol content is a concern, it's always best to ask your juicer of preference about it - most are more than happy to provide a list of the ingredients they use. :)
