So my package full of
juice has been sitting in customs for the past 7 weeks. The vendor won't do anything until the package gets returned to them. I have not received any letter from customs saying what the heck they are doing with it. Do I mark this one off as a hopeless cause or is there anything that I can do?
Oh how I feel your pain .. I recently experienced a similiar issue after ordering a bunch of DIY supplies from china. What was worse is that Customs/UPS tried to play me by adding a status on the tracking# which stated " recipient refused package, said did not order" and the location was listed as Calgary, AB ... wtf?? I don't live in Calgary, and I would certainly never refuse my own package, and when I called UPS to find out what was going on, they told me specifically that Customs has refused and seized the package because E-liquid is not allowed to pass, and that the Sender would have to contact them to advise whether to destroy the package, or have it sent back to the Sender.
So if a Customs seizure is what happened, then why would they update the tracking to indicate that I refused delivery and said I did not order it ?? ... easy answer is to screw me over..... Trying to get the Seller's help was useless mainly because of the tracking status indicating I refused delivery, which was a lie, and also because there was a language barrier ... Well, I was not just going to accept that I was out of $150 bucks, so I filed a claim with paypal to get my money back ... and I got it back too!
When UPS tried to screw me over with that blatant lie of a tracking status, they really just helped me get my money back because although the status stated that I had refused delivery, it also stated that the recipient refused the delivery in Calgary, when my shipping address is in Brooks, so there is no way that it could have been me who refused it, and based on that alone Paypal gave me my money back.
Now, if UPS had decided to state the truth, that Customs refused/seized the delivery, then I would have been .... out of luck, because Paypal doesn't get involved in issues with Customs , and basically view it as an issue for the buyer to work out and deal with..... So how did you pay for your order, and was there any tracking #?
