I've got four M401 attys with carts ready at all times. One is powered by a passthrough on my home notebook computer and the other three, with batteries, are with me wherever I go during the day. Naturally the passthrough provides the strongest and most consistent vapor and throat hit, while the battery-powered atty vapor output is typically less reliable and the attys occasionally seem to die altogether, requiring some intensive maintenance to regain life.
Here's the thing: Recently I've noticed that if I rotate each atty/cart assembly on the passthrough from time to time the attys seem to regain, then retain their youthful vigor for a while, giving appreciable better vapor and throat hit when back on the battery. And those attys that behaved as if in the throes of death perk up admirably when attached to the passthrough.
Has anyone else experienced the atty rejuvenating capability of the passthrough or might I simply be imagining it?
