I've been running an A tank boro today with my preferred vaporesso CCell, and was thinking how nice it would be if I could control the air flow some.... Browsing around, I stumbled upon this little piece of innovation:

Looks just like what the doctor ordered! I like how the O-rings will totally seal off both the area around bottom of the boro, and the device's boro compartment floor around the positive... :thumb:

I've never ventured far into the BB hardware / accessory rabbit-hole until using the SXK Ion Box. The BB's, while interesting, eventually found their way into my mod display case due to pesky condensation issues. Now, I find myself tracking various orders containing window panels, bridges, flush-nuts, integrated tips, etc.... :)

Just received this Orbit RBA / boro yesterday, and it is surprisingly good IMO. I wasn't expecting that great of a MTL vape, but the cone-shaped AFC (same principle as the Kayfun Aerokon) is working quite well to reduce air flow smoothly at the coil, and deliver a decent throat hit for me. The flavor is great, it's easy to build, and hasn't leaked.... Very stable using temp-limiting as well... :vapor:

EDIT: To be a bit more descriptive regarding the Orbit's vape quality (to me), on top of being very flavorful with my preferred e-liquids, the vape feels "full", and saturated.... Very satisfying.. :)

I like the smooth af of the Orbit too (copied from Kayfun Aerokon ) but I use mine more for an RDL vape.
The problem I have is leaking from the seam where the tank joins the deck.
Even with the gasket reinforced with a strip of plumber's tape, the seal isn't always great. Mine is from the first run of SXK clones. I've read that this is a problem common with the authentic Mission XV too.
If yours isn't doing this it sounds like they might have fixed the problem in later production runs.

Yes, apparently I received one of the later production runs I read about in the FT forums somewhere with improved gaskets. Isn't leaking a drop thankfully... :)

You can upgrade to a DNA for sure. Check this guy's soldering skills - scary.

This guy is definitely an expert but its good to know it can definitely been done. Also we got a complete breakdown of the entire mod whice is also good for metal color modifications. Hopefully we will see some in the community show off their diy powder coating and cerakote skills on that stainless. Vapers are a very interesting bunch!!!!

Off record, taptalk has fallen off the planet with ECF. Whats happening? Its so much easier to manuver throughout the forum. Please send the plug-ins ECF...

Classy's reply to another member from 24 August 2022 (from thread linked below).
Tapatalk is no good.
Possibly another app down the road.

Consider posting your concern with Tapatalk here...

That's the thread mods and the folks who did the upgrade monitor.

I've been interested in a mech boro device, and this is the one which more than likely will end up in the cart. Ulton's QC is usually spot-on IME, and the price is certainly right (around $30.00 USD), especially if comparing to other printed "boutique" mech boro devices costing 10 times higher...

I'm sure other's here have noticed this one shipping soon.... Kinda pricey IMO, considering the unknown electronics. Looks interesting nonetheless.. ;) ATM, the SXK DNA 60 Ion Box holds my title for " Best quality / value clone boro device of 2022" (at the discounted prices I paid).

From what I gather, this appears to be used in the "Beeper" device's electronics:

CAMBRIDGE, UK – March 13, 2012– ARM today announced the ARM® Cortex™-M0+ processor, the world's most energy-efficient microprocessor. The Cortex-M0+ processor has been optimized to deliver ultra low-power, low-cost MCUs for intelligent sensors and smart control systems in a broad Tjrange of applications including home appliances, white goods, medical monitoring, metering, lighting and power and motor control devices.

It would be nice if they came up with a 21700 version of this mod. I like the mod just feeling the need for battery life, especially with mech and borrow mods...

UPDATE: The AFC arrived yesterday, and is functioning as designed... :) It's great to have some AF adjustment with the A tank boro, and other bridges which use drop-in coils. I'm especially happy since I went ahead and ordered another one in black before this one arrived.... ;)

It's still early, but on Facebook it seems that SVA and Protocol are planning to come up with something new.
Both are of course well versed in the Boro world, so perhaps it is in the same niche.
We are waiting for the Critival mod to be produced, paid for and everything.

I'll probably have another mod, cheaper type, and most likely a clone, and BP Mod's new TMD atty. Just to have some boro when I walk with Øsa, I usually lose the mod on the ground lol

Looks like decent QC in this review. Some good info regarding size comparisons with other devices, boro compatibility, etc.. :

EDIT: The same reviewer has another recent vid out, showing the 5AVape KBR-S:

Getting close to 3 months of fairly solid use with the SXK Ion Box, and it's holding up quite well. :) Loving the anodized finish, since I've managed to drop it on the pavement twice already while getting out of the car with the device between my legs, and forgetting it was there.... Thankfully, just some scratches, and a couple of nicks here and there. Nice to not have to worry about chipping / flaking paint for certain. I may grab a sheet of 3M vinyl to wrap the device before it gets any worse. EDIT: I should add that the scratches seen in the pic are not very noticeable unless under bright light....

I'm VERY happy that this is the SXK copy, and not the aluminum limited edition once offered by the original maker for around $500.00 USD.... ;)

Holy crap!! I need to lock my wallet shut! Just noticed this DNA 60 device on pre-order at 2F. Both aluminum and POM versions offered:

I've been thoroughly enjoying the recently released SXK DNA 60 Ionbox clone. The QC on my particular device is superb, and it's been practically glued to my hand since arriving. I currently have a couple of DNA 60 SXK Billet Boxes, and must admit that I'm liking the Ionbox MUCH better. Here's a couple of pics I posted in another thread with a DNA 60 Abyss for comparison:

Here is something I'm REALLY enjoying compared to my Billet Boxes.... This pic was taken after 3 days of use without removing the boro, only refilling when needed:

    View attachment 978432

NO CONDENSATION!! I mean dry!! In comparison to my Billet Boxes, I find this incredible, and attribute it to the air intake cut into the back of the Ionbox. The Ionbox also has the "old-school" box mod vibe going on that I like...it's just been a joy to use, and the first device that's had me excited to own in awhile. In fact, I just placed an order for another one in black..... ;) :)

Unfortunately I know way too much from my teams. They have been bombarded every day. T

Thanks for alerting me to this device mate. It's been in constant daily use for me too since I bought mine in August. Such a comfortable, small, practical mod, and as you pointed out in an earlier post, builds up very little condensation due to the front and back af design.

And just saw that SXK are doing a run of PEI/ultem BBs.

I know PEI devices aren't for everyone but I'm a fan. I never really thought much about them until I snagged an SXK PEI Delro. It's the hardiest, most scratch-resistant material I know. Tolerant of temperature extremes and looks cool imo.
