I think it anyone can get used to any weight . I do have one of samsung ultra phones and it is fine in terms of weight and size for me as I have ultras/plus phones for the last 8 years, but when I grabbed my dotmod after stubby I was shocked with the weight difference.
Another point is the battery wraps. It is easier to find a good looking ones for 18650 vs 21700.
From what I found the regular version is 369 euros and Peek is 629euro (It is sold out from one of the stores). Not hating on the mod, it does look nice but that's a number that I can't wrap my head around.
Boro world makes me feel poor lol.
Well, got my Dovpo x Across Ethos yesterday, so far I am very unimpressed with the included Ethos tank and coils. Airflow sucks. Guess I'll have to see what I think with the MK Mods bridge I got with it. Surprisingly it doesn't feel as heavy as I thought it would. All in all I think I like the mod, but hate the prebuilt coils/deck.
I didn't get that far. I tried a Tech coil (PNP/GTX compatible) and the bridge was too long to fit into the Ethos. Virtually all Boro style AIOs have a bit of extra headroom. But not the Ethos. It is built to the boro standard and nothing extra on top.
I then just set the Ethos boro aside and started using standard boros and it works just fine. And as much airflow as you can cram through a bridge. And the extra battery capacity is gold. Yes, it is light for the amount of aluminum they used. I think they pulled it off by using aircraft aluminum. Dovpo have used this on their DNA Odins too. Those Ethos AIOs are currently my most often used devices.
Go clones.
Looks good from the photos. No doubt encourages sales of the authentic too.
If not for clones I would never have been able to collect most of my favourite mods.
I guess you didn't buy Caravelas, Hellfire hybrids and early back in the day stabwood mods. Or did you?
Noo, I did see those but they were crazy expensive for me. I think my most expensive device back in the day was lost vape efusion duo 200w. I think it was something around 160USD ?
True, but when a clone costs nearly as much as another original mod, I think I would get another mod but an original one.
Just too much uncertainties with clones (quality, fit etc)
I love my Brotek V2 (DNA60C). I'll attempt to remember to weigh it tomorrow when I have a free moment, but right now with a 21700 in it. It feels lighter than a Raga without a 18650 battery installed. I'm running the Bro V2 alongside a SVA MODS AIO Nano XR 21700 (Nano Board), Cherrypine Sprout 21700 (Mech), and the Voodoo Megan 18650 (Nano Board). I'll post some pictures along side the Raga and the other devices in my rotation to show the various size differences.
For me, if I know the clone company I can be pretty confident of the quality. Some do devices well, others do attys well. Some both. To be honest of the many clones I own, few have been disappointing.
Maybe pre 2018(ish) things were different but these days you rarely get a bad one.
You are correct, clones now are better quality and just as good as the originals for the most part. You can tell by looking at them carefully. You can tell if the mod is made out of zinkalliod, or aluminum billet, then you check for the pcb, wiring, and types of contacts.. Then comes the 3d printed crap you take a chance on it if it doesn't have a DNA pcb.
Thease are the things I look for when buying a clone...
