IMHO, CE4 clearos are not very tolerant of higher voltage, and really perform best around 3.7 volts and below, useable, but not the best option for the Vamo. I do have some Vivi Novas which work well on my mod, but even so, I seldom run them much above 4.0 volts. unless I am using a 2.4 or higher resistance coil.

Wattage is a different story. When you use wattage mode, the amount of power going to the clearo is automatically regulated by the Vamo. So, a 1.8 ohm coil should deliver about the same as a 2.4ohm coil, which is why many call watts mode "set it and forget it". You should be able to vape comfortably with a wattage setting of between 6.5 to 8.0 watts with most clearos. If not, then I'd consider different clearos/tanks. The iClear 30 is a great match if you like a warmer vape (top coil design), and the Kanger Pro tank is dandy if a cooler bottom-coil vape is more to your taste. I use both, based on the flavor that I am vaping.

Not sure what else, based on what you've said my guess is you either have bad tanks or your Vamo isn't reading correctly. Putting a different/new tank on there should rule out one or the other.

I've had my Vamo 3 for just a week but I've used CE4's, vision nova's and protank's and haven't had a single issue with any of them...

Can you please share with me your settings? Thanks!

I agree with Pete. I've had a vamo v2 for a good half year and used CE3's and other clearos like kanger t2's and etc. I tended to favor lower resistance clearos in the 1.8 ohm area and using voltage mode would only go from about 3.3-4.1 volts for them. In the wattage side I've had no problems vaping at 6.5 watts to about 8 watts, but I'd usually keep them at 6.5 watts. Before I went into rba's, the kanger t3/protanks were giving off great vapor and taste at 10 watts.

I'm like everyone else in that I start around 5 to 6 watts and go up..For a 2.5 ohm coil I stay around 7.5 to 8.5 watts and haven't messed with voltage settings at all, I just stay on the power output (watts) setting...I'm still new to all this and have alot to learn but I also have learned alot from all the great members here at ECF.....

I printed out a (volt/resistance/wattage) chart I found on this site and use it as a guideline, mainly to see how high I don't want to go. I can look for the chart if you haven't seen one yet.

Can you get a different Vivi Nova or clearomizer to try out or change the coils in what you have now?? You didn't say how many supplies you have and tried, or at least I don't remember...

Have been using Ego batteries with vivi Nova and CE4 tanks. Good tasting vapor with DeKang and Rocky Mountain Vapor liquids.

Got my VAMO v3 yesterday and everything I try gives me a nasty, burnt taste.

I have tried several different batteries. I have tried all different volt and wattage settings.

Anything above 3.8 volts makes everything taste burnt. Anything above 4 watts also makes everything taste burnt.

What am I doing wrong????

Have you tried a different cartomizer/clearomizer or tried changing the atomizer head? Maybe it went bad. Try different juice as well, maybe you burned the juice.

I don't know if this is true, but on another thread someone posted that the V3 may still have a few bugs to work out and the V2 was more dependable. I don't have any personal experience with these myself. it just makes me wonder if this is DOA. I also read that suppliers have received some shipments with a lot of V3s that just didn't work right out of the box. I have been reading so many references on the this APV since I am looking for an inexpensive VV myself. If these other great suggestions are not helpful, I would think a call to the supplier and request for a replacement might be in order. There is a great VAMO thread here on the forum for instructions and troubleshooting.

Have you tried setting it to watts (Power output as opposed to voltage output)? I've had mine for about a week now and love it. Most juice I vape at 8 watts. One or two that I have I have to dial it down to 7 watts or it does taste burnt. One or two I can go up to 8.5. With the watts setting is doesn't matter what ohm coil I'm using. It will automatically adjust the voltage output to get the set wattage.

To set it to power output, push and hold both small buttons at the same time until the display lights. That gets you into the mail menu. It should come up either power output or voltage output. If it doesn't, push the right small button until it does. Then push the left small button to toggle between power and voltage. When it says power output, wait until the display goes blank and you're set. To change the wattage setting, push the small right button to increase and the small left button to decrease. It will stay in the wattage mode even change the battery.

If that doesn't work, check the output voltage with a meter. You may have gotten a bad one.

it's definitely your tanks... I have the same vamo v3 and use iclear 30's , protanks, Boge F16 carto tanks (lr punched boge xl cartos), LR boge carto (reg size), and can hit them at 8.5 to 9 watts and they all taste fine.

I have the Vamo 2 and it used to work great with everything and now everything taste burnt. I used it to burn off coils I make at home and I think something inside of it is making it's way up and causing it. May be a result of it getting to hot I believe ! I will take it apart and check it out then post the results. I will also test it with a meter to make sure it is still outputting according to the setting it is on.
