Has anyone else experienced what I'll describe below?

I've been using my eGo for about 3 months now and it's worked just fine. I predominantly used just one atomizer that I would occasionally clean. Yesterday, I was vaping like normal, then noticed that the battery (which is a manual) was not turning off even though I wasn't pressing on the button. The atty grew very hot but I unscrewed it in time to prevent it from frying. The battery though was in a permanent "on" state and the button no longer lit up.

I thought, "well, I guess one of my batteries just bit it," so I screwed the aforementioned atty into my other battery, and after an hour or so of vaping, the exact same thing happened!

I am know without an e-cig and am doing my best not to buy a pack of smokes, but does anyone know why this happened, or if there is anything I can do to fix the batteries?
Thanks!

I actually just did a search and found other with the same problem. I think my atty was dying and took out both batteries. Here is the thread I found http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-issues/137092-manual-ego-battery-stuck.html

I bought a pack of cigs but am going to throw them away and chew ten pieces of gum at a time until I get a new battery or just buy a new and different e-cig--one that doesn't have this problem.

spudboy - sorry about your loss. A dying/bad atty can wipe out an eGo/Riva batt very quickly. If you have a voltmeter ohm the atty out. It is most likely below 1.5ohms and quite possibly around 1 ohm. The battery itself is most lilely still OK it is the MOSFET on the board that is toasted. Bad thing is once that is gone so is the unit. You can keep it for parts if you decide modding may be in your future someday. Best of luck and head over to Liberty-flights and pick up a Riva set for about $35. I actually like the silocone button better than the eGo hard plastic one and the price is right. I think you should do a little bit of math in your head before you decide to go back to the analogs... you've got three dead egos at about 20 bucks each and 1 dead Atty at 6 or 7.... that's a loss of about 70 Buck in over three months. Now assuming you smoke a pack a day at 4-7 a pack that's $120-210 a month or 360- 630 in three months... add in the fact that the gaping might actually save your life and your decision to go back to smoking the analogs seems to make very little sense.

You're right-- I really don't want to smoke analogs as tempting as it is to buy a pack.
I can actually kind of use my bad battery and atomizer - every time I want a hit I need to fully screw down the atty and then quickly unscrew it before it gets too hot. It's a pain in the ... but it's helping my cravings.

Liberty Flights has good customer service and they are going to send me another new battery.

My 2 cents...I dont know if I was a typical smoker or not but I realized that I also save money because usuallly when I went into the store daily to pik up a pack of smokes at least three times a week or more I would also buy a soda, some altoids, or some gum or a snack along with my pack of smokes. Also prolly 2 or more lighters a month as well as late night runs to the store specifically for smokes thus using that expensive gasoline.
I would recommend and I use the riva from libertyflights also but I rest assured with my back up joye 510 batteries and 8 or so extra atties on hand.

Just some feedback to consider

Happy vapes

I'd retire those dodgy atomizers a bit quicker next time :) The vendor (us??) should replace those as it isn't something you can stop until it is too late, at least on one battery.
The attys were actually working fine until they went renegade and killed my battery. The first time it happened, I didn't realize it was the atty that went bad which is why I attached it to my other battery which then promptly died.
Oh well, now I know. I do appreciate your guys's top notch customer service though.

I haven't read this whole thread - the Subject cought my attention.

Yeah this has happened to me twice now! ...but they were Rivas.

One died and then within a couple hours the second one went belly-up.

I love the rivas but I'm getting tired of this! Why would both (happened on two separate occasions) go bad on the same day?

The Charger is fine. I know it's not that. Could too much current be coming into my electical outlets? I dunno. I just find if weird that both fry out the same time.

Is this common? What's up with that?

You should read the thread :)
What I think happened to me (and what has happened to others) is that the atomizer will go bad and then take out the battery. My battery is technically not dead, but it is in a permanent on state.

Sorry - as I stated - didn't read the thread. My Atty's are just fine. So I guess my problem is not as what your's is.
