BCC's I've tried -

ProTank 2 - Muted flavour, gurgling after 4 days
EVOD (copy) - Muted flavour, gurgling after a week, some leaking from bottom
EVOD (genuine) - OK flavour, still not a lot of taste, gurgles when 1/4 tank eliquid left
Vapeonly BCC - Almost no flavour, harsh burnt taste, leaks onto battery occasionally
Aspire BDC - Muted flavour, hardly any taste at all, no leaks or gurgling though

Top coils I'ved tried -

CE4 - No problems, works but isn't 'amazing'
Vivi Nova - Just works, no leaking, no gurgling, great taste and flavour. Have to tilt and swirl though and drinks juice like no tomorrow

I'm using 100% VG liquid and have tried different liquids and this keeps happening!

Why are BCC's so crap? Or am I just not doing it right? I've tried removing flavour wicks, adding wicks, different heads, cleaning, different eliquid. Only reason I like the idea of them is that I don't have to tilt and swirl constantly like in top coils.

Anyone else had issues with BCC's? Can you recommend one that won't gurgle, leak, and gives decent taste?

I agree with you, below are your options:

1- try the new AREOTANK MEGA Kanger, either the Kanger AREOTANK MEGA or the AREPTANK MINI. The new coils in these tanks are great. No gurgle and leaking from my experience

2- Carto Tanks. I have 7 of them ( IBTANKED ) Priming the carto will require a small learning curve. But well worth it because the flavor is consistent and MUCH better than clearomizers

3- Rebuildables. Will require a MAJOR learning curve. Personally, carto tanks are easier.

I still use the early ProTanks and have never had any of these issues. I wrap my own coils (which is super easy) and I always remove the flavor wick that layed across the top. There are so many other choices. You may try getting into dripping. I found the flavor to be so much more pronounced. Good luck to you and happy vaping.

If you're a fairly new vaper - i.e. a few weeks - part of your problem may be your taste buds. Can take a while before you fully taste your flavors....OTOH, toppers of all kinds seem to be quirky - sometimes they do well for a while, then it seems like you're always "fiddling" with them for a while. This can be true of cartos, too, but I've generally found cartos to be quite an improvement.

Don't give up - it'll get better!!

I've been vaping for about 4 months now. While I do love it and happy to be off the smokes, it has cost me a lot because of all the tanks I've gone through.

I might give carto tanks a go. Not sure if it's worth trying another BCC, unless the new EVOD 2 or PT3 are more reliable.

I've been using the VISION Vivi-Nova tanks for about a year and a half, they just work, as you said. They are simple to re-build with a bit of wick and wire. Rebuilding a Vivi Nova | VAPE News Magazine

I've tried a few bottom coils, and haven't had gurgling problems but the flavor just isn't there, and they burn too easily.

I find posts like this to be funny. I tried just a couple top fed, i.e. the vivi nova and the clear 16. Both of those I hate. I probably didn't give them a fair chance as this was early in my vaping but why fight with those when my mini pro tank 2 and t3s worked so well. I mostly rebuild now but I still keep a few bcc around for when I'm out and about. I will grant you they often gurgle a bit near the end of the tank. I found most often when I was having issues its because I had neglected to clean the tanks properly every so often. Hope you find what works for you.

What do you find funny about it? I don't find it funny at all. I've wasted a lot of money on a bunch of useless crap.

I want something that I can take around with me, easy to maintain and works as it's meant to. I don't want to be constantly fiddling and cleaning just so it works as it's meant to.

As I said, other clearomizers have worked for me, but yet to find a decent BCC.

Yep, flavour just isn't there at all. I get hardly any taste at all from BCC's. It's like vaping thick air. But top coil and it tastes great.

I have only been vaping for a little over two months now, with that being said all i have used so far are kanger products. I currently run three aerotanks and four evod2's with no issues. Zero gurgling zero leaking my only complaint are the coils are hit or miss, some last for weeks where others seem to only last days sometimes hours. I have a kayfun and some rebuilding supplies ordered to try my luck at building not because i dislike bottomcoil tanks but because it seems like the next step. Yes i totally and 100% blame this forum! Good luck in your venture im sure you will find the right device for yourself!

Thanks, I'm going to try recoiling the EVOD's with extra wick. I also found the heads to be very hit/miss.

Been vaping for over year and LOVE my Kanger products - EVODs Pro-tanks and the BCC....have only a few that didn't work out. But flavor is there. I have some of the areotank mini's and Pro-tank 3 mini's on order and hope the new coils work just as well. Do have a couple of IBT, but really don't like the flavor of carto's so they sit unused. So I may be strange , but sure has worked for me for a very LONG time.

Eh, I really like my rebuilt PT2's. They still make it into the lineup, even with a few Kayfuns in the mix. I also remain a huge fanboi of the IClear 30s. It is one of the most trouble free best performing clearomizers you can buy. I have taken spares in my camera bag, tucked in there with $$$$ lenses with no worries, and no leaks. If you don't want to fiddle with rebuilding or tinkering with a device to make it work right, get a couple 30s's. You will love them.

Another fan of the ProTank Aero and the ProTank 2 (with the Aero base). I have both and use them exclusively around the house. I guess i have been fortunate because I have not experienced the problems with leaks or gurgling. I do get gurgling when the tank gets low, but that is to be expected.

I also have a few EVODs (the older plastic ones) that I use when out running around and just carry a VV Ego style battery. Same with them. While I don't like the favor in the plastic tanks as well, they have no caused me any problems. I rebuild the coils myself and have started using cotton wicks. I really prefer the glass tanks, just seems to taste better....

Good luck and I hope you find something that works well for you.

I hate my Nautilus and my Aerotank. After a while, the flavor becomes nearly unbearable in my experience. I generally keep my ProVari at 3.7 to make these observations and I am using Five Pawns 50/50 liquid. There is absolutely no reason why a brand new head unit should taste awful in both devices. From me, thumbs down on bottom coil clearomizers. I know it's old, but my favorite "topper," to use Phil Busardo's words, is the iClear 30. That thing never stopped working and always tasted consistently. I might go buy about 100 of them. It's not pretty and it's not new but it works damned well.

Heard a lot of good things about them. Do you have to tip/swirl often and how are they on juice consumption?
