CE4 is a top coil.

Top coils have wicks coming from the top or upper part that dangle into the juice (or you do the "swirly dance" to wet the wicks). They tend to produce a warmer vape.

Bottom coils have small wicks, sometimes almost un-noticible, at the bottom that stay immersed in the juice. They tend to produce a cooler vape, because the coil or heat is farther from the mouthpiece

What's better? Well that opens a can of worms. Everyone will have their own preference. I prefer top coils.

I use both. I'm starting to not like my top coils as much because they get noticeably hot while I'm vaping, sometimes I feel like I'm going to burn my mouth. The reason I liked them in the first place is because that's what my buddy used and the first cheap Kanger T3 I had leaked like crazy, so I figured bottom coils were all like that. I've heard they've fixed this problem since then so I after my ProTank experience, I may buy some more bottom coil clearos. The flavor in my protank (though it performs great) is pretty muted so I'm hoping to find something a little better. I just REALLY, REALLY don't want to use cartos. I don't know why.

I've tried both top and bottom coil designs and I'm really not sure which I like better. They each have pros and cons.

CE4(top coil): This is the first clearo I tried and also the worst. Just didn't perform well at all. Quickly turned my back on these.

CE3(bottom coil): I like these and still use them. Smaller, 510-threaded, cig-a-like size. Need to be filled with a syringe which can get tiresome after awhile. Relatively inexpensive.

Kanger T2 (top coil): Been using one of these for about a week. When they work, they work well. Good vapor production and flavor. Unfortunately they tend to flood and gurgle quite a bit. Still trying to figure out how to get the best performance out of the T2. Changeable heads so that's good. If I could get consistently good performance out of these I'd stick with them.

EVOD (bottom coil): Just started using one of these yesterday. Not bad so far. No gurgling or leaking yet. Vapor production not as good as the T2. Flavor seems a little muted. Changeable heads on these too. Need more time to really form an opinion.

Personal preference plays a big part in selecting a certain type of delivery device. As has been said here many times - whatever works for you.

No idea why I feel the same way - for some reason fill-and-go just works for me and I'm scared of anything that might be extra work...I've also got no problem replacing coils (at less than $2 a pop for my Evods/Protanks) every 6-8 tanks if I need to, though I'm saving them in case I decide to try tearing them all down for a full dry burn and cleanup at some point in the future if I get more mechanically inclined.
