Bottom Coil Tanks?

I just got my first e-cigarette; my friend has been using them for a long time, so I asked him to help me pick mine out.
He pointed me to the Kangertech Protank. I loved it at first! When the woman set it up in the store, she filled the entire tank and I walked out vaping beautifully. However, I just tried to clean it myself for the first time. Since then I've been having serious problems with leaking. Can you help me troubleshoot?

I cleaned the atomizer, let it dry completely before reassembling, made sure I had all the gaskets/seals, made sure the assembly was tight, and made sure NOT to drip liquid into the center tube. I'm baffled as to why I'm having problems.

My thoughts so far: could I have damaged the seals by screwing it back together too tightly? Is it true that filling it all the way creates a vacuum which makes it less likely to leak? (I wanted to try my different flavors, so I didn't fill it up very much on my own. And now, since I've been leaking, I've been hesitant to fill it completely until I figure out what the problem is so as not to waste liquid). Versely, is the protank more likely to leak when the fluid level is low?

I'm a new member. Once I get my five posts, I may start a new thread to discuss the issues I've been having.

The MT3S is a big brother to the Evod. Slightly larger tank capacity, with a draw similar to its little brother and the coil heads for Evods and PT's will work with it.

The ProTank Mini is another good option. It's clear, borosilicate glass and can take the tank cracker juices that destroy plastic systems.

I also have the SmokTech Aro and like it alot, but it does not take the Kanger coil heads.

The PT is probably not the best option for trying lots of liquid flavors. It works best when at least half full and bottom coil systems do have gurgling/leaking issues when liquid gets below the grommet that covers the wicks.

You may also have damaged or dislodged the flavor wicks on the coil head during cleaning. You can remedy this by adding to or replacing those with a similar size of rolled (not twisted) cotton from a cotton ball or cotton cheesecloth. This helps to keep liquid from getting below the coil in the head and finding its way down and out of the air hole on the bottom.

Removing the flavor wicks is never a good idea, unless you're rebuilding the coil itself and you're using a wicking material that is thicker than the tee-niny stuff that comes in the factory stock head. Also, if you're using thick juices, having extra wicking material helps keep that viscous stuff moving across the coil and creating vapor. Cotton does that as good as any material, and you're likely to have it already in the house.

I have a pro tank 2 and I like it but to the OP question about anything else to try. I would have to recommend the vision clearomizer with long wicks and replaceable atomizer. They are fairly cheap but they perform great. I always keep a supply of them, much easier to carry around and it's nice to have a few loaded with different flavors, I would at least get one and try it
