Ok let me try and answer all that for you. The face plate isn't SS, it's aluminum and it's about 3/16" (slightly less if I recall). I attached it with liquid metal epoxy (it's a 2 part made by JB Weld). Now as far as wiring any board I STRONGLY suggest you follow the wiring gauge the manufacturer recommends. Just download the specs and they'll tell you what thickness to use for each wire. I just wired my 510 connector and the battery with the same wires YiHi recommends.
Thanks capt...Jbw clear and follow specs...the reason i ask about the wire is because i see alot of dna boards being wired with thicker gauge wires for positive and neg only on drip cup and a skinny copper wire for neg batt term..

So much for a mech only guy ...
I like mechs more as far as reliability and size go's...you never know when the electronic mods are going to let you down and its usually bad anytime.

I like the simplicity of the box mods on the go but yes i prefer mechs mods.

Would like to make my own mods as a hobby. I think ive been around the vape seen long enought to be able to do it... I just need all the info and help i can get to get it right the first time...

Anyone has dna 40 and 200 dummy boards, or know where i can get them please pm me....

build enough of them and don't worry, you'll wind up with dummies for mock up eventually :D

truth is though it's really not necissary, I usually build everything with live boards, not much advantage to using dummy boards really you just have to get used to being careful with them but there not super fragile tbh...

Well said, I have unfortunately collected a "dummy" of every DNA product except for the 200...

Though it should be said that DNA has some decent data sheets detailing the physical measurements and layout...it is interesting how they hold on to the Standard/Imperial measuring system for a product exclusively used in an industry that has completely gone over to metric?

Haha, yeah i have a couple "Dummy" boards because i was a dummy and didn't watch my solder good enough haha. Those boards don't like it much when you bridge the positive and negative together with solder haha.

Got the brass panel back from the engravers today for my latest efforts on the mill.

The most fragile part on the small screen board is the display ribbon, breaks very easily, it's why I have so many 'dummy' boards

Ok Sub, spill the beans on those mods. I really like the Steam Crave box design & was thinking of modding one with a different chip like yours. Now I may have to order one regardless even though I was hoping for a sale.

This is the second squonker I've built, but the first wooden one. The first one I ever made was made from a Hana clone enclosure, and while it worked perfect and still does, it's not a real looker haha. Anyways, this is not a finished product, and I wish I would've taken pictures of the step by step, but this the all
I've got. It's made primarily of rose wood, completely custom button, and a copper negative connection. The only thing at the moment that I'm lacking is a positive firing pin. I had intentions of using the same copper I bought for the negative, but it doesn't have enough spring to it. Past that and doing the finishing woodwork, sanding and shaping, this thing will be ready to vape. Just thought I'd post it and get some ideas, encouragement or criticism lol. I'm open to all comments. I will say this though, I know the craftsmenship isn't perfect, I could've done a lot better, and intend to on the next mod I build. This was basically my test run to see if wood was worth the time and effort to use as a medium.

Thanks for the kind words all! Gonna give it a quick sanding to clean it up and round the edges just a little and I think I'm gonna call it good. Can't wait to start my next one.. I'll post finals of this one and whenever I get to start the next one I'll take pictures of the process. Again thanks for all the kind words!
