Hi all,

I'm a newbie 1 month owner of the LP Reo mod.. :)

Unfortunately one of the negative post in my RM4 came off (after 1 month) and I managed to fix it back, however during one of the episodes of uncapping the RM4, the negative post managed to touch my positive post and that caused a collapsed spring.

Tried to change the spring, but I just can't get the bottom screw that's attached to the spring piece undone...it's too damn tight and I think I managed to screw up the threading. :(

Is there any way to get the screw and spring out?

This is how the screw look like now

I don't think the warranty covers stripped screws. It will cover faults in manufacturing or assembly that were not your fault.

"Hey Rob - i have some nasty-tasting juice in my Reo, so i'm sending it to you to fix - under warranty ok? Top man that Rob!"

Yeah i just woke up when i was typing that. I thought about it more after i posted it and got out of bed. Haha. You are right 100%

Great advise from FB if that doesn't work get under the spring with a flat screw driver grab it with a pair of pliers and twist . Brute force can be useful at times

Good advice...I had to resort to brute force and pull the spring by the base out. :p

I didn't want to do that cos it's an expensive investment and don't wanna risk damaging it. :(

Now another problem...tried to screw it back and the base is loose and I couldn't tighten the screw enough to stop the base from moving around

A new spring comes with a new base, is that what you mean? You dont need to use that base you have at all. Id replace that screw too. That is when you get it out

When I bought the Reo...I made sure I included 3 extra springs and have 4 now with the one that came with the Reo. :)

Wonder if I can get the screw from my local hardware store...

Sad that my RM4 RIP in less than 1.5 months of getting it. :(

Not sure about the screw size. Try doing a search of this forum, from the main reo sub-forum page.

I think Rule62 or SITS told me this:

When you put the spring back in, put a penny and a nickel behind the base of the spring, inside the reo. That helps tremendously when trying to tighten it up.

Good luck.

No no far from it when comes to reos I believe I have the upper hand though . I hear some real whoopers on the threads at times guys telling others to use vice grips on there atomizers coins under there springs . I just scratch my head and wonder were this stuff comes from . If I dont say something it can get out of hand next thing you no there are a bunch of people doing these crazy things . My favorite is the door rattle for years I have been telling people to just bend the door slightly if it bothers you very few listen to me

People hear something in the forum and they believe it scary really . Hooples are strange
