I was just going to start a thread similar to this as I have ordered from several different vendors, several different flavors-and flavor categories, and I don't like ANY of them except for the original tobacco, RY3 and RY4 flavors I purchased from my local Totally Wicked B&M shop, when I first started vaping. I knew the first few weeks that I wouldn't enjoy any sweet or fruity flavors, but right about week 3 I suddenly felt like I was ready to venture into trying flavors...about $75 later, I am right back to my original stuff from TW. I SO wanted to love something! In addition, I wanted to know more about steeping and others experiences with it. Does it really have an impact on flavors, and in what way? I mean if you sample a new flavor right out of the mailbox and don't like it, how does steeping it transform it into something that you love?

Depending on the flavor steeping can make a HUGE difference in what you taste. I have some flavors taste like dish soap on day 1 and taste really good 2 weeks later. On the other hand I have had them start out tasting like soap and still tasting that way after steeping. I also had one flavor 555, that started off bad, got better, then got worse again. Steeping is not going to be a holy grail of making things taste good. However, I would never flush a flavor just because I didn't like it on day 1, some of them do actually get better.

Also as I mentioned in this thread earlier. If the flavor is supposed to be semi-sweet to sweet, I have found that adding sweetener drops has also helped a few flavors to taste better.

We also got some juice that was awful... It's smelt like stinky socks and tasted about the same. I gave it to a friend a couple weeks ago who's like Mickey.... he'll vape anything and low and behold the stench of rotten socks is gone, and it tastes ok too. So in this case steeping was the answer. And he couldn't be happier scoring a free bottle of juice.

I've been vaping for a few months and up until a week and a half ago have only ordered from one vendor. I upgraded my gear and figured I'd order some samples from a few different companies. It ended up being 6 different places! All popular here on the forum.

Tonight, I'm starting on my 3rd shipment and 11th flavor. I don't really love any of them. Some are okay, but not great. 2 of them, I dumped what was in the tank, but I'm saving to try again later. This morning, I figured I'd take a tank of what I've been vaping for months and a tank of a flavor that I thought was just okay a few days ago. Strange thing happened. I didn't like the one I've liked for months, but liked the one that was just okay, a lot more than before...

Moral of the story, as some have said, just save it and revisit later, taste changes. Steeping for just a few days or longer can help. I think quitting analogs a week ago is also affecting my taste buds also, in my case. 3 more shipments and over a dozen more flavors to try, I'll get it eventually and so will you!

i think my taste bud pallet sucks. I keep hearing about bad juices that taste like dirty socks or garbage but haven't come across one YET. I did have a few that tasted like cheap chapstick.. haha!

I recently got a few from ecblends and am on day 5 of steeping. i was impatient and tried vaping it and ... no flavor or anything. I smell it but can't taste it.

my first juice was strawberry from mvs which i really liked.
so i bought 3 more:

- peach from mvs
- strawberry cream from vaporheads
- banana cream from mbv

surprisingly, i can't stand any of them.
what are the chances of not liking all 3 juices?

definitely let them steep...if that is all you have to vape, do a forum search on faster steeping methods. ALL mbv flavors need to steep in my opinion

I bought my starter kit from MVS and 7 juices.
Out of the 7, I like the black tea (which is really nice actually) and the strawberry is just about OK - apart from that, they are relegated to my VOID shelf (Vape Only If Desperate)

So you liked 1/4, I liked 2/7 - I'd say that's about right

I'd just recommend reading the juice forum and getting a few samplers from the suggested vendors, finding an all-day vape has become my new obsession (that keeps me away from analogues and hurts my bank balance)

Three? I have tried at least thirty juices I couldn't stand. :D

Trial and error. Read reviews, try small samples (3ml or 5 ml max). It takes time.

Yeah... I have over 100 juices that I've gathered since I started vaping(less than 2 months ago) and I have only found a handful of juices I can vape all day. Just got one of them in the mail today from a sampler pack of 16. There are some that are good, but only in small amounts. I drip those. Anything I really like goes in a tank and even then, sometimes I'll get sick of them. The belgium waffles ones for example are ones I can only vape when I want something really sweet and syrupy.

Just keep trying. You can also check out the PIF section of the forum where you can swap sample juices with other members to try and find your all-day vape.

You've heard all good stuff...just wanted to add fyi that just today I finally got into a peach flavor from Gourmet Vapors that's been steeping for a week. It's called Peach Cobbler and I can't put it down! Tastes exactly like warm peach cobbler to me. I've had really good luck with Mount Baker Vapors too, but they've all been best after steeping for 1 to 2 weeks in my experience. It seems to take awhile for the flavors to meld with many flavors. Keep them in a cool dark cabinet and shake them once a day. Good luck to you....there's one out there with your name on it...you just have to keep trying!! :D

I'd say this is the breakdown of where all the juices I've purchased or had shared with me fell since I started vaping almost 3 years ago:

10%- I hated them. YUCK !
40%- Didn't care much for them. I could vape them if I had to in an emergency but I would prefer not to.
40%-It was OK and I would vape the entire bottle but I didn't care for it it enough to want to purchase it again.
10%-I really liked it and would purchase it again.

I would have to say the chances are very high; especially since all your order's are in the same family (fruits). Not only that; my all day vape just turned GROSS on me ....so, gotta start over

Right off the bat I tried the tobacco types, ry4, etc. Didn't care for them much. Started vaping fruit flavours and they, for the most part, are doing the trick. The fruit flavours could use a little more zing occasionally so that has me looking into the DIY ejuice info. My take on it is that it is all a part of the vaping experience learning curve. Have fun.:banana:
