Hello all,
New member here!

I had been using an njoy off and on for about 6 months but it never took... just something about it i did'nt like. I recently sold it to a friend and purchaced (what i thought was) the highly recomended Joye 510. This is the kit i got: Joy Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit

I don't think i bought what i was looking for.
This model works great out of the box, but slacks off after a few puffs. If it sits idle for a bit the vapor production gets better.

I just took apart the cart case and added a little janty liqued i had... it seemed to improve at first but i must have added to much because not i'm getting liquid out the mouth piece.

Does anyone know what model i actually purchaced?
Any ideas on how to improve performance or DIY cart filling?

Any info at all would help!

Thank you.

Joye does not equal Joy

No idea what Joy is

Joye aka Joyetech is the Chinese manufacturer of the original 510

Looking at the atomizer of what you bought, it could be an RN4081, an L88B (A? like the old Blu 3-piece) which may also be known as Chinese wholesaler model Trio, or could be Joye 306, or something else. It is not a Joye 510 atty but there is a also the less likely possibility it is a 510 battery with 306 atty and carts. All of those batteries have female (inset) threads. Note though - if you get something else mark the Joy charger and batteries because that L88B one uses reversed electrical polarity on its charger vs RN4081 and 510.

This is a Joye 510 - hard to see but left of the gold band are 2 parts - first the atomizer and then the cart which fits into the atty tube. if you use cartomizers, you replace both of those parts with a cartomizer.

See how your current ecig works out for you but it may be weaker than a 510 and your accessories may be limited to what "Joy" has. I started with an M401 and what you got may be more powerful than that.

If you decide to get a Joye 510, see Cignot.com, LiteCigUSA.net. (and I like the standard Boge soft-cap cartomizers for 510 at LiteCigUSA). And NoSmokeVA.com has a nice VaporMaxx PCC for standard length 510 batteries. I recommend manual 510 batteries.

BTW - with the unit you have, you may be able to push the juice cup up for filling by sticking an unbent paper clip in the mouth hole. Be careful not to overfill - you probably have automatic batteries and they can be killed by juice drips because they are dependent on a drag sensor in the unsealed threaded end.

Thanks for the info Door Mouse.
Looks like I got rolled on this deal so far, but we'll see.

I'll mull over the info and keep trying the new product tomorrow and see where to go from there.

To be honest though, I really wanted to get an RN4062 E-Cigar. I prefer cigars to cigs in every way (size, shape, style of smoke, etc) but the price diff and my constant need to smoke keep me on the little sticks. The big batt, big vap, e-cigar seemed a perfect fit for me. The only thing I don't like is the red LED vs blue... but that's drop kicking a gift horse in the mouth and selling the teeth for chicklets.

I've heard such good things about the RN4062 and I would really like to get my hands on one but I can't seem to locate any. Everywhere I look they are sold out of everything but the carts... save for one place that sells "Discount EVERYTHING!!!11one" and has a dinosaur as a mascot: Wholesale Health Smoking Electronics Cigarette E-Cigarette Kit RN4062-24 - DinoDirect.com
I am naturally suspicious

If anyone knows where I can get a good RN4062 starter kit (and maybe a few extra atomizer tubes) i think I’ll try JOYcigs "110% Money Back Guarantee!!!"... without holding my breath.

Thanks.

You could do much better than what you got for the same or less money. It looks like those are auto batteries and if they are, that is part of the problem. You definitely would be more satisfied with manual batteries which provide more control and better throat hit.

I would suggest you look at the Joye eGo or the Riva 510. Better batteries and better consistency.

Here's one place that provides a good deal:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

What you bought is the same as a blucig (BLU Cigs is Down for Routine Site Maintenance.) this was my first kit 2 years ago and I returned it right away for my money back...

LiteCigUSA and Liberty Flights carry Joye EGO and EGO-T for great prices. The EGO is a larger battery model that uses Joye 510 atomizers. I stepped up to an EGO from a 510 and have never been happier. It's not as large as a cigar, but it is definitely larger than a 510.

i started with the 510 which i found to be quite satisfying, afterall thats how i quit smoking. Over a couple of months though the battery life and the dripping got a bt too muc for me, so i bought the EGO-T... that for me is a real good unit, recharge it every 6-8 hours and the little tank is excelent as i dont have to carry the little bottle and refill every 20-30 puffs.

The atomizers and power supply appear to be IDENTICAL to Blu, I believe L88x (I'm new to the model numbers). It likely is a fine unit, $50 is pretty good for a PCC (charger case) and 20 cartridges. I've been meaning to investigate the atomizers/cartridges for Envy since they fit the threads and produce a ton more vapor. I found I had to dip the wick, top off the cartridges, or shake the sucker to get the fluid to the atomizer.

I found I got better results from a $15 KR808-D1 kit than I ever did with the Blu. My main unit presently is the T-Rex, like the eGo, Riva, Tornado, etc... etc. The threads are compatible with the 510 and the Blu, thus one "could" use the Blu batteries to drive the slightly larger atomizer.

Another to consider is KR808D-1 (aka Vapor4Life in colors, and that's where most prefilled cartos are sold) - it's a cartomizer unit (soft cap cartos - you can add more juice). It's a bit fatter than a cig, 3-5 hour battery life (unless vaped heavily). Doesn't have a nice cig-pack type PCC - has a flat heavier metal pack. It's the most supported 2-piece. You can buy a number of styles of blank cartomizers for it.

I use it with one of Vapor4Life's black drip tips on the end of the carto instead of the little white cap - easier to pull it out to add juice and it makes a nice mouthpiece.

And some advice - don't believe every review you see. There is a whole upper sleazy level of ecig sales full of fake testimonials and fake review and comparison sites. Only pay attention to reviews you are pretty sure are unbiased and not paid for. Don't buy anything you can't get parts for easily. If you can't get parts at at least one of LitecigUSA.net, Cignot.com, Liberty-flights.com then I would be concerned. Don't buy from anywhere that charges more than $20 for a battery or that doesn't sell blank carts or cartos and eliquid. The most supported threadings are Joye 510 (which is also EGo and Riva 510) and for a 2-piece KR808D-1 (which is also Vapor4Life, and Pigcig and Elegant Easy for fat models). These are most supported for battery types, adapters and blank cartomizer types.

At Liberty flights with the 20% off deal (upper left corner of the page) you can get the "lite bundle" Riva 510 kit for $29.99. It contains 2 750mah batteries, 2 2.2ohm atomizers, a fast charger, 10 empty carts and a cone. The price changes after you click the 20% off icon and that's 20% off the entire order.

Juice in the mouth is usually an overfilled cart or carto. You are probably getting low vapor, too. A flooded atty is the symptom of both.
