Hey guys,

Looks like I've joined you squonkers... but the Grand that I have tastes like mint! Yyuuucckkkk lol... and I can't seem to get the flavor out. I don't have access to PGA, and I don't want to flush it with anything other than juice or PG but that's not working.

What can I do to rid this flavor that just wants to stick around? And... I'm LOVING this mod so far! It's my first, and probably going to be my only. That is... until a mini comes in stock lol.

Hi Loft! Welcome!
So one of the items that holds flavor sometimes is the o-ring in the cap of the juice bottle. I would suggest boiling it for about 5 minutes then pull out and let dry. The tubing should lose its flavor after a flush of Isopropyl Alcohol (99%). You can also try a hot water flush through the system. Remove the battery & atomizer and set your grand in the sink. Boil some water, then pour it directly in the atomizer connector. It should run through the tube. Give that a shot and let me know if that works. :)

*edit....don't worry about the mod...you can pour water on it and it won't damage it. Just give it time to dry out before you put the battery back in.

I'll try the hot water flush because the thought of possibly inhaling IPA does not appeal to me... lol. Plus I only have 91%. Here goes! :D

I got the o-ring soaking now; along with the bottle cap. Sadly, when I went to pour the water through the Grand it didn't flow through right away - so a little got in the switch. But, I ran hot water through it for about 20 seconds and now it's sitting in a container of rice to draw the moisture out of the switch. When I popped the o-ring out it smelled horrible... so I'm hoping it goes away with this treatment. I may soak that in IPA first, and then do a hot water soak if the first hot water soak doesn't work.

No worries...the switch will be fine...its mechanical...not wired. :) I'm sure the hot water will help a bunch if not take care of it. Keep us posted.

I just got booted and lost everything I wrote.

So, also think about removing the cap and wash it too. Use the IPA and then rinse with the super hot water. If that doesn't work, you may want to contact Rob and see about getting some replacement tubing, o-ring, and pre-drilled cap. I've seen someone use vinigar too, but I've never done it, so I can't tell ya how it will work.

Ya, I removed the cap and o-ring and soaked them both. I'm done with it for now, back on the ego. Booo...
