Dripping is done into the atty. The driptip(DT), or mouthpiece, is only there because the atty gets hot. You can use an old cart by taking out the filler, or the "blanks" that come with attys. The advantage of a DT is that you can re-drip without taking it back off again.

2 drops=around 3-6 hits, then add a couple more.

Ah...ok...so basically REAL dripping is the same as regular vaping, only you don't have the foam filler in the mouthpiece (and the mouthpiece has a larger opening, so you can re-drip more easily)

I use the foam fillers in the mouthpiece right now...was curious as to why they tell us not to use the mouthpieces that come on the atomizers...I've only been vaping 3 weeks, so I'm still a newbie :) I greatly appreciate all the help and advice from the forum members here.

The mouth piece that comes with the atty's are for shipping only (Dummy ends). They do not contain the fiber to hold e liquid so even if you tried to use them nothing would happen except sucking a load of e liquid into your mouth! I also would not recommend direct dripping with a 901 as they do not have a seal in the atomizer. This means E liquid can leak through the atty and into the battery causing it to stop working or if that doesn't happen you will just end up flooding th atomizer and it will also stop working. So typically with the 901 you should only use e liquid with blank carts (carts containing fiber but no liquid) or for topping up pre filled carts which you can do up to 3 or 4 times before you should change the cart for a new one.

Top tip: Only use one or two drops when refilling a cartridge and let it soak. If you fill it to much the liquid will seep through the atty and into the battery with the same consequences as direct dripping. When people speak of direct dripping here on ecf they will most likely be using a 510 which has a special seal to prevent liquid seeping through to the battery. I hope this has been helpful for you and maybe saved a few of your atty's from a premature death ;) Happy vaping :):vapor:
