Hello - I posted before about what to buy and everyone was very helpful...thank you. I have been using the elec cigs you find in the smoke shops...the kind that are just 2 pieces with disposable carts. They have been great for me...I have not had analogs in a couple of days. Actually...they even smell gross now!!

I bought my first kit...below is the link. It should be here by the end of the week. I need help understanding how to use this.

What is the voltage for and do I need to change the wicks very often in the clearomizer??

What if I want to put a different flavor juice in? Will my wick still be soaked from my previous juice??

What should I buy for this system if I want to use carts instead of the VIVI?

what are some do's and don't with this system?

Thank you:confused:

The voltage is to change the "hotness" of the coils. More voltage = more heat which in turn creates more vapor. This is something you'll have to figure out on your own, as to what voltage is right for you and your device. I usually use about 3.8 or so on my vivi and ego twist. Changing heads is something that would likely be easier for somebody new to vaping, compared to changing wicks. You'll learn when this needs to be done. Basically, if cleaning is no longer working, time to change the head. To use different juices, just rinse the tank with water and allow to dry. Since your battery is an ego, you can use any 510 or ego cartomizer. I also suggest using a lamp timer to charge from a wall outlet. I never use USB ports on a computer, as this can damage your computer and your battery. Something like this should work fine: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...53&langId=-1&keyword=lamp+timer&storeId=10051 I don't recommend the ones with the little sliders though, as those don't always shut off properly. This keeps you from overcharging. Hope this helps

Well the Variable Voltage of the Twist will let you adjust the voltage going to the VN, depending if you want a cool vape, or a warmer one. High Voltage will give you more of a throat hit too, but too high will burn the juice (I can't remember which gives more vapor, more flavor since I've kind of found my sweet spot.)

The VN will come with a 2.4ohm head, so I would suggest starting at 4.o volts on your twist then work your way up and see how you like it. I run my VN's from 4.3v-4.6v.

You shouldn't have to change the head of the VN very often. I haven't changed mine except to try the lower ohm heads, and I've had mine for 2-3 weeks. It is suggested that you take it apart every few tank tank loads and wash everything out.

When changing juices you should probably wash the system out so you don't get a mix of old/new flavors. it doesn't really take that long to do.

I haven't used cartos since my 808 system, so I'm not sure if you should get standard resistance one or low resistance ones. I know a lot of people like lower resistance ones. Mostly everything I use is in the standard range.

I think the big thing is since you have a VV device start off on a lower voltage, and work your way up to find what you like. If you start too high you can burn your juice, and you'll get a burnt taste.

Here's a video on how to clean your VNs:

I'm sure someone else will chime in on what I got wrong and touch on areas I wasn't sure on :)

Good luck! My friend just got some Spinners (same as a Twist) and a VN and he loves it.

I have an ego twist with vision clearomizers (same as vivi nova to a degree)

I would definately recomment 2 650mAh batteries. 1 for use, 1 for use while other is charging.
If you go with 2.4 ohm heads.... a nice sweetspot is 4.0 to 4.2 ohms generally. Depending on juice... maybe higher.
You will have to experiment a little on what you like best...but 4.0 is good to start at.

I clean my clearomizer usualy every couple days. Simply remove the unit from the twist and take it apart.
Keep in mind if any left over juice is in there, you will lose it.
If its alot...take the mouthpiece off and drip the juice back into a bottle or something.
Simply run the atomizer head under some water (distilled preferred but not mandatory)
Let the water clean off the wic.

Take a paper towel (or equivalent) and dry off the entire unit. Pat dry the wic to help the drying, or run a lighter/torch on them to dry them out.....but dont burn them to much. An alternative would be to just let it air dry over night.

Reassemble and add your new juice.

It really only takes me 5 minutes to take it off, clean, refill, and be vaping again. But I use a mini-torch I got at the store to help dry it faster.

I've been vaping for a little over two weeks and the Twist/Mini Nova combination has been my one and only set up. I kicked the analogs with it immediately and liked it so well that I now have a couple of spare batteries and 4 Mini Novas.

Cleaning is very easy. The only thing I'd tell you not to do is to blow on the coil while dry burning. I have one blown head to show for that. That was a $3 mistake so I thought it was a cheaply learned lesson.

So far, all of my juices are tobacco flavored and I don't always clean the wicks when changing juice. The new flavor comes through pretty quickly. It might not work as well with two dissimilar flavors. After 40 years of smoking, I don't have all my taste buds back anyway.

It really is a simple system. I had no experience at all and I was vaping within a minute. I set the voltage all the way down to 3.2 and gradually increased until I liked it. Yes, the numbers are hard to read on the Twist but I treated it just like I would a dimmer switch on a light and simply turned it until it was where I wanted it. I wound up at 4.2 volts.

If you're so inclined, you can use some nail polish and a toothpick (or similar brush-like small, pointy thing) to put a tiny drop of polish on the voltage markers to make them easy to see. I put drops on the 4.6 4.4 4.2 3.8 3.6 spots and then it goes: MAX, 3dots, 4.0 in the middle, 2dots, MINTHATIRARELYUSE; this makes it really easy to set a voltage without having to squint.

With the 2.4Ω heads I tend to stay around 3.8-4.3 volts (6.0-7.7W) but it really depends on the head and the juice. The 1.8 head that came with my VN turned out to be a 2.4 head so don't put full faith in the numbers stamped on the side.

That is very accurate! On my mini vivi novas, the ohms were all off. I had a head that was stamped 2.4 but read 3.8 ohms on my multimeter!!! My 1.8 was a 3.2. That's Chinese quality control for you...
