Today I went down to my local e-cig store to buy some new juice and a couple new cartomizers. I told the guy that I wanted the 2.5ohm 510 dual coils, as I usually use the smoketech cartos of the same type (I put them in my unit and run them at 6volts). I'm pretty positive that these new cartomizers I bought are the boges. After getting home, I refilled my tank, punched and saturated the new carto, and twisted it into my SB. At first, it simply didn't work. I put in some fresh batteries and still nothing. Finally I decided to try a lower voltage and put in a 3.7 volt battery. Now it seems to work ok. But this is weird because I have always used the smoketech 2.5s at 6 volts and never had a problem. The only thing I can think of is that the guy in the store gave me cartos with the wrong resistance rating. Unlike the smoketechs, these cartos don't say the resistance rating on them, as they are completely blank. Anyone else have any ideas?

Possibly do you have a Volt ohm meter? Easy to check. May have been dry and it took a while. IS this a tanked carty? If it is one of the tiny ones there is trick I found on to fill them. The condom method. I let it site on the ones I got with my kit. The others are tanks and I have to do them different.

Mr. Steved5600,

I got a multimeter handy right here. Unfortunately, Ive never used this thing before. I know I gotta set it to ohms, but I get multiple different readings. Where on/in the carto do I stick the probes? I'm trying to research this right now. As for ur question about the tank, yeah I'm using one. I'm not worried about filling it though, I got my own methods.

Take one probe and wrap it in some tape so only a small bit of the tip is exposed. Then using the two probes chopstick style hold the insulated tip in the center and the other on any metal part on the outside. I put the carty on a table tip removed tip side down. Set the meter on ohms and avoid touching the metal part of the probe with you finger it can change the reading. that should do it.
This is kind of generic. I am not familiar with all the diff types of attys. Hope this helps.
OH Just call me Steve or SteveD5600. My dad was mister. LOL
Take heart my personal observation is that these things can be kind of twitchy sometimes. Not to mention all the Fing knockoffs.
PM me if you need any more help.

If you haven't already done so, touch the pos. & neg. probes together & make sure you're reading "0" ohms (or close to it) on your meter. That's to make sure the meter & probes/wires are all working properly. :vapor:
Not everybody can afford or justify a Fluke meter. Radio Shack and Home Depot have some that look OK. I even have a cheapy Radio Shack that works OK for this kind of stuff. It's not great but it's better than nothing. Other thing to consider is if there is a juice build up on the atty connection. Holding constant pressure on the probes.Clean that. Maybe make sure to keep it steady. Don't touch the metal part of the probe as it will change the reading.
If you post a pic of the meter etc we may be able to figure out if a setting is wrong. Some meters have button to set it on Max., Min., Average. Try average see if that helps.

Try pulling the center post of the cartomizer down just a hair. I've had some that would work in one PV and not in another. Sometimes the center pin is just not making contact and needs pulled down a hair.
