I'm not usually an "on a whim" type of person but I went and bought an eVic. The first time I've ever bought anything without doing a crap ton of research first. I've now had time to do my research and it looks like this may not have been the best decision. I haven't even opened the box yet. Does anyone have any opinions on it? Thanks!

I don't think its a bad decision - you will need to download the 1.1. update to get the advantage of the variable wattage. It doesn't go to 15 watts - but very few people would vape that high anyway. I think the max is 11 watts which will be plenty. I know people are are using the eVic and enjoying it. The interesting thing about the eVic is being able to download updates.
First thing to do is check the date of manufacture and serial number against those in the recall notice. You may need to return it to your vendor for replacement.
Any clue where I can find info on the recall? Field of vapor on YT said in his review not to feel bad if you've already bought one so I'm going to take his advice and if mine hasn't been recalled then I'm going to embrace the damn thing and vape away
I too bought the eVic and so far I've already updated it to v1.1. It's working surprisingly well so far!
If I had the money to blow I would get an eVic, they are great devices. Sure some people won't like them, but some people don't like Ferraris. You're going to love it, especially when more updates come out in the near future.
