Box Mod Safety Questions

I just got the new ipv3, chose it over the segelei 150w. After I purchased it, the vendor told me make sure you use the same two type batteries, at equal charged levels. I was so excited with my new mod, I just said ok, and left.

Well, I got the mod now. But my mistake was, I forgot to ask why...Which is the reason why I'm here. Why do you have to use two of the same type batteries, at an equal charge? What happens if you dont? Let say intermix sony vtc with panasonics? Or one at a higher charge, catastrophic meltdown?

I have a box mech mod my friend, built out of an altoid box. I intermix batteries all the time. Especially at diffrent charge levels during work. I find it helps keep the battery level high, firing my atty at a high voltage. Just how i like it, a nice cool vape. You all know how mech mods work, as the batteries go down, so does the hit. Nothing has happened so far and aren't unregulated box mods suppose to be more dangerous then regulated mechs, like my ipv3? Usually, I chill at the vape shop a while and ask questions. Especially after purchasing mods or attys, but like I said; I was excited.

Is there any other safety issues I should know, concerning box mods? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
