That BE thread is huge..

Here's what we do.

We buy 99.9% nic from a source in China(sorry, but nobody gives out their source of nic. But it's not BE.)

We then mix down to a PG or VG 300mg base for making our e-liquid.

We use precision droppers and have calculated ratios for the number of drops of nic base for the proper size of bottle to get the proper percentage of nic in a bottle of e-liquid. The total concentration of nic can be off slightly due to variations in the amount of base that is used but it is minimal.

Our nic comes with lab tests. We also test batches of 36mg nic made from our 300mg nic, to make sure that it is accurate at the highest concentration we sell (36mg). Our last test results on 36mg e-liquid came back at 39mg or 3.9% instead of 3.6% (a .3% variance). We also test for DEG with none found.

We started using 99.9% nic back in May of 2010 because we too had doubts of the accuracy of the VG or PG nic solutions we were buying. Testing was within 2% of what we the mg was supposed to be but it still wasn’t close enough for our standards.

With 99.9% nic, we have much more control of what we produce but at a cost. We have a ventilated room, safety gear and precision measuring instruments we use when making our 300mg base. We are also hazmat certified as well as FDA registered. It's a hassle but worth it for our own satisfaction as well as yours.

With eyes upon us all the time, we do our damndest to make sure that the product we sell complies with anything we can find or think of.

Thanks for the response Hoog. Like almost anybody else who read that thread, after about 5 pages I got spooked and ran to supplier forums to see if there were any problems with where I buy the majority of my liquid.

I feel like you guys are well ahead of the industry curve in terms of QC standards. I hope you realize/think I speak for many others in saying that the level of trust created from that is one of the main reasons I continue to patronize Madvapes.

yeah-- seems that thread has created a lot of panic and why we're trying really hard to stay ahead of the curve on this.

Personally I think e-liquid has to be regulated and we are doing everything possible to be in a position to be able to continue to produce e-liquid once regulation hits. In the back of my mind, it's an uphill battle that may be fruitless no matter what we do :(

So for now we'll keep our QC at the highest we can and continue on :)

Great info on your process. I think if there's one positive to come out of this controversy it is that I think a lot more vendors will be more transparent about their processes.

I agree and think it's needed.. There's always going to be things that won't/can't be disclosed, but being as safe as possible should always be the highest priority.

Have you guys ever thought about using xtremvaping's nic ? I notice all the really beloved quality juice vendors use their nic . I know you guys would have to charge more to make it but i would pay the difference as im sure other would too . There got to be something to it i would think since those vendors sell out of juice super fast . Kbv ,BWB also Diy'ers go to nic
