Yeah, Loretta didn't have the money for a lawyer so called the news stations. After months of begging them to make amends all it took was one airing of her story on the nightly news and they got it done. Nothing like a grey-haired 75 year old mother of 12 to work the guilt...

The truly sad part is she had to resort to the news and applying a case of guilt.
For the life of me I don't understand why any public servant type agency would think it's a good idea to allow such a publicity nightmare. All the damage should have been fixed within a day or two at most!!

That story has me incredibly annoyed! SMDH

Really...there was endless finger pointing between agencies and no one would take responsibility. It was a nightmare

Unfortunately this happens frequently. My husband has had to deal with over zealous DA offices who are charging people with felonies when they are victims. Several stories in particular make me want to throttle someone. He's such a good guy he would take the cases even if he wasn't getting paid very much on principle. He can't stand to see people pushed around by the system because they can't afford a voice to fight for them. After 14 years of this he burned out (and couldn't keep the lights on in the office) and quit practicing. He's much happier now but when he hears of stories like Loretta's I can see it in his eyes that he wants to fix the problem.
