Hey guys I just purchased the e-go and the low 2.o caromizers off of vaporkings. My question is this, everytime i try to take a drag i cough and it is hard to inhale??? I smoke 30 plus cigarettes a day and never couch from smoking analogs.

I have tried to inhale it deeper, softer, with more air and nothing seems to work right. DOes this go away because it is really not enjoyable. I also only currently have pg based liquid.

any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

...first off, any PG based juice is the harshest you can use...a juice with a higher VG content will be milder...having said that, what you are experiencing is fairly normal...I had the same experience...I found what helped me was to puff on it like a cigar or pipe(no inhale), eventually taking just a bit of the vape in at a time...I kept adjusting my technique and eventually got to where I no longer exploded a lung on each inhale...at this point, I can take long slow 8-12 second hits and just smile...keep working onit and you should be able to as well.........

I am using two flavors both purchased from vaporkings one is nuhport menthol and the other is rasberry 11mg nicotine content. Primo vapor is what it is called from vaporkings.

SO to make sure I am doing this right i condom filled them until it was visible through the top then i just screwed the caromizer into the ego battery and that it is it right?

SO do you guys recommend vg based or what is a good brand to try that isnt so harsh?

Thanks again guys for this, really want to stop the analogs just dont like the feeling of the e's so far :( Gonna hit the gym and hope to have a few more responses.

I don't know how to solve the great mystery of coughing. My sister was a heavier smoker than I am and smoked longer and coughed like crazy when she vaped.

I tried adding some VG to her juice. I got her a very low nic juice in a subtle flavor (vanilla mint I think) for her to practice with.

She's fine now with her first juice. It seems to be the way she was vaping somehow, but it's difficult to tell another person how to smoke. Don't inhale directly into your lungs.

I think it mostly comes down to technique, and you just sort of have to practice. It'd be good to get a low nic juice to practice with though so you don't make yourself sick.

Everyone is very different regarding PG/VG. Many find VG less harsh. I can't vape too much VG, it's like that commercial where the elephant is sitting on that woman's chest. That's the feeling I get with a lot of VG.

Try any or all of these...

Try standard resistance 3 ohm cartomizers - less heat so they won't increase the hit of the nicotine.

You have to keep the cartomizers damp of you get awful singed bitter burnt taste

Buy decent juices with some VG in them. I use 80PG/20VG in cartomizers - plenty of PG to let through nicotine hit and flavor, some VG to dull the irritation and smooth the vape a bit and add nicer vapor. You could also use 70PG/30VG - I just think I get a bit longer carto life and easier filling with 80PG/20VG. I also avoid all dakr, opaque and cloudy juices that drop flavoring sediment (clogs cartos and atomizers).

Drag slowly into your mouth, then inhale.

You could try 1 step lower nicotine.

Also - lots of brand new vapers find the vaper makes them cough. However you want a nicotine level that will let you take nice drags and enjoy them, not ones you can't inhale without coughing.

Whatever combination of the above you do to make it more comfortable, you will then be able to take larger more comfortable drags and enjoy it and get the nicotine you need and the satisfaction you want.

Like Dormouse say's use carto's of 2.5 ohms to 3 ohms for less harsher hit. Also most menthol's hit harder, I can't hardly do menthol and I used to smoke menthol's exclusively, now it makes me cough most times. Like she said suck into your mouth and then inhale.

I think this is probably the method you use for filling and it works great, just be sure to wipe off ends. I generally let mine set for about 15 to 20 minutes to let juice completely soak in.

Keep trying and vape on!!!

I'm going to answer even though I'm not a pro.
I had the same thing happen to me- I'm a Noob, too.
It went away after the first week.
For me, I think it was the same 'smoker's quit' cough that I used to get when I quit analogs cold turkey. I used to cough like crazy when I quit smoking analogs- strangest thing, because I didn't cough when I smoked.
There are other chemicals that you inhale (of course) when you smoke analogs that you don't when you vape; and some of those might be the ones that make you hack. I know it was true of me.
I'll be checking this thread right along with you to see if someone chimes in with more knowledge, but until then, just know you aren't alone, and it does stop.

In my case, it didn't seem to matter which liquid I chose, but in retrospect, I'd have listen to the Pros about the VG/PG ratio- it might have helped.

Ok thanks guys where is a good place to buy vg based liquid from then, that is decent in price and fast at shipping? Also for those of you who have quit analogs, did your lung capacity get better with the e cig?

One thing I didn't see someone say (I may have missed it) is to drink LOTS OF WATER. I am new to vaping myself and for the first two weeks of vaping I had to drink a sip of water after EVERY SINGLE HIT. It keeps me hydrated and I won't cough at all. Once you get used to it you'll be fine with any amount of PG =)

Yes your lung capacity will increase. Ooops I forgot about the hydrating, it is necessary to have something to drink at all time for a while as the nicquid has a tendency to dry you out! I drink lots of coffee and water while I am vaping!

Received a Johnson Creek sampler (PG version) of 10 different flaves. Not real wild about any of them to be truthful. The 18 mg using PG is harsh, little flavor variation (other than the peach) and not much in the way of vapor. I also have their Red Oak (VG based) at 11 mg "Domestic" which is much better in flavor, richer in vapor and smoother than the samplers.

I used to smoke American Spirit Yellows (mild) and am finding that the VG @ 11 mgs is very close to that in throat hit, smoothness and satisfaction.

Thought to share for those who might be coming off "lights" and finding the PG too harsh. I may contact JC and swap these samples for the VG based Red Oak (albeit they don't have as many flavors).

SO can anyone recommend a good place or two too buy some good quality vg and or vg/pg mix? Thanks so much again

Red Oak™ Smoke Juice - Johnson Creek

Their Red Oak line is 100% VG and is smooth. You can get it @ 18mg or 11 mg. I personally think the 11 mg is great but you may find you'll need a bit more w/a throat hit.
