When I started, I used e-cigs that resembled cigarettes (small batteries with pre-filled cartridges). That didn't really do it for me, either. I finally got off the cigs when I got into the large battery mods. They were satisfying in a way that the little ones weren't. You could probably get the same effect with a good ego setup for much less than the cost of a big-battery mod. Anyway, Good luck and welcome.

Hi Allano,
Would help to know a bit more. What nicotine concentration are you using with the Greensmart? Also - the ones you are using may be a bit underpowered for your needs, especially if you were a heavy smoker.
You may want to try an Ego-twist or Vision Spinner to start with. These are about the size of a cigar and you can adjust the temperature.
Also maybe try a different type of juice delivery system which you fill with your own juice.

Here's some more info you can check out:

if you are ok with ego size then you will get better battery life than with the smaller ecigs. You could buy standard egos - or you could get a variable voltage kit. Variable voltage means you can change the temperature of the vape.

This is a good value and good quality vv kit with authentic Joye Egos or Vision Spinners:
Vision Spinner Joye Ego-C Twist Combo

You get to choose from either Twists or Spinners. The Spinners are a bit better in my view. You also can pick what size batteries - from 650mah up to 1300mah.
And for toppers - Evods or MT3s - I'd get one of each.

That gives you two batteries and two good clearos.

OR

Get one Spinner for $25
Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh

And an MT3 or two:
Kanger MT3 eGo B/C Clearomizer

I recommend getting the kit with two batteries though - you need a back up battery to use while the other charges, or if you lose one.
As an FYI. Its a popular kit and a good price.

You'll also need some ejuice. Mount Baker Vaper is a good vendor with good prices, and is popular:
MT Baker Vapor
Coupon code ecf for 10% off.

When you buy juice buy small bottles - so if you don't like a juice you won't be stuck with a big bottle of it.

Good to see you here - feel free to ask any other questions to help you with vaping.

I sort of feel like it might not be working that well. Even when I take a long draw, there's a faint flavor. I don't see much vapor (?) (you know, what looks like smoke) when I exhale, and I feel like I get nic fits if I don't smoke a real cig. I've got the high nicotine cartridge.

Should you see a lot of vapor, or whatever, to know it's working?

I should also point out that I'm looking for something somewhat inexpensive. I'm pretty poor.

It sounds to me like your batteries are not powerful enough, and your vapor is too weak for you.

Greensmart living looks expensive. If you have $70 this kit will give you more powerful batteries - two of them in the kit so you have a back up. Lots of people use these.
Then you can buy your own juice, which is much cheaper than using Greenmsart cartidges.

If that's over your budget right now, I suggest looking at getting one ego battery (although two is best so you have aback up while one charges), an Evod or MT3 and a pack of empty 510 cartomizers. You'll find these for sale from most vendors. At the top of the ECF page there is tab that links to forum suppliers.
Discount Vapers is a place you might also want to check out:
Twist Batteries

In the long run, its cheaper to buy your own e-juice. You need at least two batteries because you need a back up - and you need a charger.

Allano,

You seem very similar to myself, You smoke very aggressively and frequently, I was just like you, rolling huge fat rolling tobacco cigarettes that would make my mates cringe, its just how I liked it.

IMPORTANT:

During my 9 days cold-turkey run the little Evod style e-ciggs were not cutting it at all, even with nicotine. How I survived the cold-turkey run was by understanding two things:

Airflow affects your vaping experience dramatically.

The Atomizer plays an almost equally important role in the type of Vape you get.

To get a really powerful vape and to get that "throat/lung hit" like you do from smokes, you need to "REDUCE YOUR AIRFLOW" AND TAKE VERY SLOW (MOUTH TO LUNG) DRAWS- the difference here is black VS white.

It's hard to replicate on a clearo style tank system. But you can still do it by covering up the holes with your hands while vaping, which is admittedly a pain in the bum. I strongly recommend Getting your hands on any RBA or RDA, clone or real deal it doesn't matter, something like a Russian 91% will do nicely. Using the draw method above will give you a really intense vape- incredibly similar to smoking strong cigarettes.

The best part about this method:

IT'S SO SATISFYING YOU WON'T NOTICE THERE IS NO NICOTINE ANYMORE. - It will truly make you forget about nicotine.

If you have any question, hit me up mate. :)

+1 on absolutely everything Kiwivap says. If you just cannot afford the kit above you can go with something like this Kanger Evod Starter Kit and then add one Vision Spinner or Ego twist once you save a few bucks a week or 2 later.

The juice bottles can be much less expensive than the green smart cartridges and having backups will help you stay off cigarettes in the beginning stages when things are a little harder. Check out E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Juice - Mt Baker Vapor and/or Lucky 7 Vapes for very affordable liquids. (Hint buy sample packs of smaller sized bottles to get a few flavors to try before you order the big bottles of anything :) ) Those cig-a-like styled ecigs are the right idea but they are just to small to really have satisfactory battery life/performance.

Happy vaping, hope you get this all sorted :)

Wow. I was taking taking fast, hard, quick inhalations (like when I used to smoke weed). The slow method totally works! It's so simple.

I will look in to something new, but, for now, thank you for the tip.

One last question. Is it difficult to quit smoking vapes? I mean, is it still as hard as quitting cigs? I don't know if you've tried, but I'm curious of what the general consensus is. I'd like to be nicotine free, eventually; if only to save money.

Thanks so much to everyone here for your help. I was afraid this would be a sleazy site created by some company pedaling product. I'm glad you're genuine enthusiasts :)

When I first started to quit cigarettes I started with the evod starter kit. It was odd the first few days but the more and more I used the device I noticed that the flavor I had Five Pawns Gambit was a lot more satisfying to me than a bland smoke. Then I got more and more into vaping and haven't looked back I even find myself getting nauseated when I'm near regular smokers. I can only give you my own opinion and say that I feel that vaping is what helped me get off the coffin nails.

I am not at a "quit" place yet, but I suspect that yes, it will be easier to quit, at least the nicotine part of smoking. I have been vaping a little over 3 mo and dropped from 12 mg to 6 mg and never noticed the difference. I don't find myself craving a vape when I am out and about like I craved a cig, either. Once I have used up some of my juices, I am going to drop to 3 mg and see how that is. So I think dropping down may be fairly easy to do. I wonder though if it might be that you turn out to miss the actual activity of smoking (hand to mouth, etc.) more than nicotine.
