I got my Sidesho manual batt on Monday. and it has been working great...until this morning.

I was just sitting here vaping, it was working just fine, then all of a sudden...no vapor. So I took the atty off and put it on an auto batt and it was vaping fine.
I put the manual in my usb charger and the charger didn't recognize that it was in there. I checked the usb charger with an auto and it started charging just fine.
I put the manual in the PCC, doesn't recognize...tried with an auto, starts charging fine.
When I push the button, the led lights up and doesn't flash at me...and goes off when I let go of the button. Yet it won't operate an atty or charge.
I'm at a complete loss here. The connections are clean, there's no fluid leakage, it wasn't dropped...it just quit, just like that.

I PM'd Tony and waiting for a response, but do any of you have any ideas or input that might solve this mystery?

EDIT: I took my other auto batt out to use it since the manual is dead....and wouldn't you know it, it's dead too and won't charge. WTF is going on? I haven't done anything other than screw an atty on and the batts are dying.

1) Check the batteries with a volt meter.
- if good step 2
- no volts you have something internal wrong. Between the batt (inside bat case) and the contact with the thread, are solders small wires. If they break off, then now power flows. On some models the threaded contact (metal) is press if into the batt case (plastic). If you tighten too much the metal will sping in the plastic and twist and break the wire.

2) Make sure the threaded contact area is clean. juice can build up on the batt and become stick. I once had a peiece of tobacco stick to the positive connection. When I screwed the batty to the atty the tobacco because sandwiched between the 2, preventing a conection.

3) Does the led on the manual light up when the button is presses? The rubber or plastic button we touch on most models is not actaully the button. It is overtop of a small button on a printed board which activates the batty. If the plastic button has become out of alignment with the button inside then it won't work, or light up. You should be able to detect this as when the button is pressed there should be a small click sound.

My 801 atty is stone cold.
The cold atty confuses me though. It was working then it just wasn't working.

My 901 battery is fizzling out slowly no longer holding a charge.

Why couldn't it have been both parts of one!

Is there any way to revive them?

@ props....so the manual battery will still light up when pressed even if it isn't working? It seems to charge.

The batts are working again. I think the connectors got pushed down from the attys. They must've raised back up a little from sitting all day without attys attached.

I can hope this works for me.

The batt could light up and not work.. There is one sets of wires going to the led that lights up, and another set that go to the contacts that run that atty. If the atty ones are broke, then the led will light up, but there will be no power to the atty. A voltmeter would be the way to test this condtion.

Cold atty could be many things. The 801 is a cold running atty. Also I have some that are hot to the touch and some that aren't. I don't know why, they both seem to vape well. To test your atty you need the mutlimeter again. Check the resistance, it should be around 3 omhs if the atty is healthy. If it's 3 omhs and its not vaping, then your problem is batt or contact.

As for the 901 batt. There is no way to revieve a Lithium Ion batt. All you can do is charge it till the green light comes on on the charger. They have a certain life cycle of charges then they are done. Fully discharging a litium ion will kill it (which is why they are protected, your PV will flash and stop your from vaping at low voltage). Constantly running them to cuttoff and charging them will reduice the number of cycles they can take. Check the voltage again. A batt thats ready to go will be below the 3.7 volts they are new.
