Hello, I have been smoking cigarettes for 15 years and my parents have been smoking my whole life, now my daughter is smoking! I have not started E-Cigs yet as I am waiting for them to arrive on Monday in the mail. I have been reading all the info and I am giving it my all!

In the last couple of years, I have lost and aunt and uncle to cancer because of smoking and now my dad has cancer. I am thankful that his can be cured but he must stop smoking. We have all tried the patch and other options. None have worked.

I am trying to get everyone in my family on board and they are very interested. I am very excited for a new start and I know I have to it a chance.

I am so glad that I found this site and looking forward to learning all I can. I am waiting for my 808 pcc mini and am very excited!

I will keep you posted!

Welcome to ECF and I wish you and yours all the best! The 808 is a great way to start. I've been vaping for 2 years and have tried a ton of gear and own 3.7volt, 5volt and variable voltage mods and I STILL love to get an automatic 808 vape sometimes. I'm vaping one now with a ProVari in my lap. You can all do this! We're here for support any time you need us.

Wow, sorry about your family's health problems. I know how you feel about your family and your own smoking. I was chain smoking like crazy still well up until my grandfather died from lung cancer (From smoking). I couldn't bring myself to keep smoking knowing that what I was doing would probably kill me soon enough. Also I hated the fact that it's almost impossible to hide the smell of smoke on me or the 'be right backs' during family get togethers. So it made things awkward to visit my mom who just lost her dad to cancer while I smelled like an ash tray.

The main reasons I think patches and gums don't help is that the key component to smoking is the reason you probably started in the first place. The sensation of smoking. That's what e-cigs give you. On top of that you can buy eliquids that give you the same nicotine buzz that you've grown acustom to.

When I was smoking I was really into smoking and trying all different sort of exotic types of tobacco and got really into it. So that was an aspect that I miss, but I've gained it back with e-cig related products and flavors. I havn't had too many ecig products, but I have discovered that the more a pain-in-the-... an ecig is to refill makes all the difference. I'm pretty lazy, so I bought a Tank fed ecig, which are extremelely extremely easy to refill and keep various flavors on hand to switch in and out. So don't get discouraged if you don't like the first ecig that you buy. Figure out what you don't like about it and post for advice from forum members as to other products that you may enjoy.

I have no advice on e-liquids other than to just buy sample packs from all over and spend some time trying them out. I've found just trying to have fun with it to be very helpful.

Good luck to you and your family!

By 808 do you mean KR808D-1 or something else?

If you are using cartomizers (holds juice and screw right on battery) I recommend PG w/ 20% VG - enough VG to add some nice vapor and smooth out nicotine irritation but most PG for good flavor, nicotine TH, and thin to work in cartomizers.

I use couple of WOW juices from Vapor4Life that I found by trying their cartomizer sample packs and other prefilled pack (their cartomizers are KR808D-1 as are the nice cartos from SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6).

I've also gotten juices from Velvet Vapor, FreedomSmokeUSA, Juicy Vapor, Virgin Vapor, Voidmist, Purevapes, Gourmet Vapor (during their infrequent but huge sales), Vixen Vapor, Vaporstation and more.

Pay attention to what flavors satisfy your craving. Some new vapers need tobacco juices and get a craving for a cig from food flavors. Some do better with non-tobaccos that don't remind them of cigs. Some can vape any flavor right from the start and be satisfied.

Welcome to the vaping world!

I must say you're making the right choice getting off smoking and getting into vaping. Nothing else has kept me off smoking for more than a couple days because I start to miss the habit, and my routines with smoking. Now I've replaced that with vaping and all the wonderful products out there for us. Keep us updated on your progress!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I was going to get the ego-t but my parents wan't to try the one I am getting. I figure I will get that and see what they think of it. If they like it, I can get another. I am very excited to get involved and make a hobby of telling people what I learn.

I have many different kinds of e-juice coming as I know some might not seem so good that I thought would be good and vice versa. I have been learning via the internet on how to refill catamizers. I told the family that I would refill for them if they were not comfortable with it.

I am learning that there are people who have so much knowledge that I can learn from. I can be stubborn sometimes and know this is what I want to do.

Thank you all for your advice and I may need to ask a question or two down the road. I believe this is the best site for great advice.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on stopping the cycle. I sympathize with your family history and A's for your Dad there's lots of us here that began Vaping late in life. Drink LOTS of water A's the vapor comes from our bodies and not the juice. Dehydration can lessen the Vaping experience and lead to issues. When I first began Vets told me most new Vapers like menthol. I HATED menthol analogs but I really enjoy some in my juices.
Good Luck to you and please keep us updated. There's is wealth of knowledge here.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.

Welcome to the forum and let me start off by saying it may not be easy in the beginning. If you have problems, stick with it! There are many many options in the e cig world and it may even seem overwhelming at first but once you have found a niche you will not want to go back. Keep trying different things, and read read read. This forum could become your best friend. Best of luck to you and yours Roseline.
