I recently picked up a brass rda for something with a slightly different look. Well, the LOOK is amazing. Unfortunately, the taste is different also, and not really in a good way. The only way I can seem to describe it is that it tastes brassy - like I'm vaping tuba juice. Not pleasant. Has anyone had this experience and/or know what can be done to make it go away? It was thoroughly cleaned on receipt and once since (got it a week ago), but is there maybe a specific cleaning method that'll make it less blech?

You can try cleaning it with a degreaser or soapy water with a bit of ammonia in it. But brass and copper attys are not great for vaping. They are reactive. That says it will react to things that come into contact with it. Having a brass or copper airflow control is ok but the rest should be stainless steel. Brass and to a lesser degree copper can have heavy metals like lead in them. Also you may taste the non SS attys. If stuck on this you might try electoplating the inside with silver or gold. Wish they did not sell these attys. Brass or copper plating on the outside is acceptable but not inside the atty.

Thanks a bunch. >.< Never occurred to me they'd sell an atty that made everything taste bad, but I really like how it looks. I guess I'll have to find an alternative. Would using a stainless deck with the brass top cap and AFC still taste crappy (it's a Stillare clone)?

Why does it surprise you that cheap Chinese clone makers would use sub-optimal materials that make juice taste bad and POTENTIALLY could lead to serious issues like lead poisoning? Lol, you think they really have any regard for these sort of things?

Personally, I stay away from any atty that isn't SS. Copper/Brass accents and AFC rings are fine, but any deck that isn't SS I won't touch. I know there's a lot on here who will swear up and down that the temperatures we're vaping at can't cause Brass to be any more harmful than any other material. But I'd just prefer to stay away from it. Peace of mind is far more important to me than aesthetics. That is why I started vaping anyway.
