Dan, that looks good, but with four magnets, they have to be set perfectly level/ flat to make sure pos and neg have good contact. Or they aren't rigidly set.

Simple, put a spacer around the inside magnet and put them on a metal piece so they are flat, attach contact leads and use a hard epoxy to set everything. So when they are pulled off the metal they are perfectly level. Repeat with other set.
I ordered some to test the theory out with. Should have enough to make 15 double connectors.

Agree. One ring is better. Only one ring magnet is the best way. Simple and reliable. Particularly if we consider poor conductivity of these magnets. More coaxial magnets - less reliability and more price.
asdaq, you are the best!

Thanks Calypso, that switch has seen a lot of alterations and the lock is a clock gear with most of the center drilled out and 6 more holes. The legs have valve barrels from 6 lighters (5 currently matching, 12 slaughtered so far  )

As for the magnets they are nickel plated and not too thinly plated either. The plating is to both combat corrosion and fragility so conductivity is not that bad, plus there is the large surface area. Gradually you can find gold plated neodymium too.

Asdaq plz stop giving Dan Ideas...his brain is going to explode...We love him...and a good many would cry if he pops before doing a coop on the BFG...ROFL Doc Gummy may have to do a housecall.....

Spectacular mod by the way...love the magnet Idea...hmmmm has me thinking.....nahhh mine already has enough magnets...I add any more and it may turn into an anti gravity machine as well as a vaping device

The BFG could have the magnetic connection, there's plenty of hole in the middle and I've already got a 16G needle running up through the body of the atty, switch the brass nail with a 18G needle (same size) and bam, Magno-BFG.

There's a small silicone cork up the needle to prevent backflow, that would have to go, and the tank could be much shorter. Also a small hole in the positive post aimed at the wick would be a nice improvement. I'm not so into bottom feeders, but a sideways tank would be nice for me. :)

I sure hate to inflate your ego ever more than it already deserves, but damn nice job there man! That connection looks like the future of atty modding. Great imagination! I think I will start simple.. Gonna try out the RCA atty soon.

Too many damn ideas on here!! My wife was laughing at me earlier because I was sitting here reading, like ooh ooh ohh I wanna try that, and that, and THAT!! lol good stuff, can't wait to get started.

The gear spins around independently from the actual switch. The holes and the legs have to line up for the button to push enough to activate. There is an o-ring on the center that gives the gear some friction and keep it down. Yes, you can actively look at it or mindlessly spin it until you see the light come on. :) It's a bit like playing with an analog pipe's bowl.
