Last week or so, I ordered from RuyanDirect two Joye510 kits plus some empty carts, and a crapload of stuff from eastmall (PCC, juice).

But I won't start vaping this time... Because... Crap... Apparently, customs seized/taxed my order... Either way, I won't get my order... Brazilian taxes are way to expensive, and it's always a +EV move to order it again than pay these taxes. But I'm not ordering from RuyanDirect again, I'll wait for my Eastmall order, and if everything goes fine, then I'll be ordering from them my kits.

But I'm also concerned about my eastmall order too... But... Some Brazilian friends got their stuff from eastmall...

So sad... Guess I'll be stuck forever with analogs...

I thought is was 100% legal in Brazil. Is it legal but just have to pay a ton in taxes if caught?

Yeah, e-cigs are perfectly legal in Brazil (But not the juices, cause they're seen as "hazardous substances" because of nicotine)

If caught, they notify you about how much you have to pay... And the customs can charge anything they want... They charge from 60% (best case scenario), up to 200% or more. So, it's better to order again and take the risks.

can you share more with us? How much where the taxes? How much did your shippment cost? How did they notify you?

Sure thing... The charges will be probably around 60% to 200% (product plus shipping)... They didn't notified me yet, I checked the tracking status. I'll post updates. My shipment cost was around 15 dollars, order, about 82 dollars for the products... Total - 97

I received an order from ruyan yesterday (15 atomizers and 2 bottles of juice) and it came straight through. Customs didn't touch it.
I've received several orders from ruyan without any problem.
Mine always come through JFK; wonder if the point of entry makes any difference ?

Yeah, he's in Brazil.

this post is gonna get alot of hits with a title like it has...too bad Brazil is not in the title...it's not really fair to ruyan/heaven gifts

I second that, since I heard lots of positive feedback about RD/HG, but... Customs is Customs, anywhere in the world... If it was bad luck or not, could happen with anyone from here to down under... But, some say that Brazil have one of the toughest customs, along with Denmark, Canada and a few countries..

Lucky you!

Probably... If the airport is big and receive lots of stuff, chances are slim that you'll be caught... Because customs always use random sampling methods. But common sense say that if there's 1000 packages arriving in a day, they will open 10.. If there's 10 packages, chances are they'll open all of 'em, since this demand way less effort and no need to sort at all since it's just a few packages.

In my case, I think It was bad luck, I won the lottery, upside down... Rio de Janeiro's Intl. Airport is one of the busiest airports here, and handle ALL the international cargo coming to and from Brazil

"Customs is Customs, anywhere in the world... "

OK...I'm out of it.. somebody else take over...:D

What's wrong with you guys?

This should be an international forum for e-cigs, right?

I'm not welcome here? Because I'm Brazilian? From the depths of the world? From a crappy country or something?

Please tell me what's wrong... Then I'm the one out...

No problems here Phil. We have a lot of people who don't read entire posts. When they see "Customs Trouble" everyone panics, and the rumors start to fly. The title was only edited to clarify things. If it were any other country, I would do the same thing to keep information accurate.
