After 5½ months of vaping I have already saved over $400.00. Even with buying 3 different kits (901/801/510). I have spare parts for everything and about 120ml of juice on hand. I used to smoke about 1.5 packs per day.

At first it was much more expensive, then I found good, dependable atomizers (RN4072) so I am not having to replace them every couple of weeks any more and the savings are racking up fast.

I was smoking $40 worth of cigarettes per week. $120+ per month.

But I already bought $318 of supplies in 3 weeks 8-o in 4 orders. That is 50$ in shipping alone!

Granted I now have juice for several months... (will my hardware survive ?) I also have enough DIY stuff.

I made a few newbie mistakes :

  • Ordered only one battery on my first order :( and just had a pcc to charge them
  • Ordered medium nic juice (18mg) on my first order
  • By my fault I broke an atomizer
On my last order I bought flavoured 24mg and non-flavoured 36mg juice. I already mix them at 12mg so I save a lot with that. Club House mint flavor at 3$ for 43 ml is also a nice way to save money.

I think my break even point will be 3 or 4 months depending on hardware fatalities and my interest for new flavors:)

My health is already much better and that have no price :D

I won't break even for a while yet, the initial kit outlay, buying a good supply of e-juice and the fact that I used to get my tobacco real cheap all factor into this.

But honestly, who cares? I feel so much better vaping than when I was smoking, I already breath better and deeper, chest feels all unclogged when I lie down at night and wake up in the morning, I don't stink of tobacco anymore, no smelly ashtrays around me and loads of other pluses as well

Any financial savings I make will simply be a side bonus.

I broke even when I stopped buying cigarettes, and the E-Cig supplies other than liquid, an occassional battery, and atomizer once in a while..... I think I have invested about 500 dollars on E-Cigs, batteries, charger, cases, fluids, and the othe paraphanalia......

Hope I spelled that right...... Got a Titan 510, a Silver Bullet and a GG Transformer, with all the above mentioned stuff and adapters, I think 500 may be a low amount.......
But now, I got everything, I think..... Will be a while before I break even........

But it is a good hobby, keeps me busy, is healthier than analogs and legal for now......
And saved some money because my GG and Silver Bullet can adapt and become a 901 or an 801...... So, I got 5 for 3.......

In 6 months I've averaged $280 a month on my PVs/supplies (I've only bought hardware from 1 place). I've spent more than my ciggies would cost on this endeavor but I'm having way much more fun. Money isn't a problem for me, finding the right equipment is, and I'm thinking about branching out. I seem to be using alot of eliquid as well but I love the variation in flavors, which is something ciggies don't offer.

Break even...I probably never will and don't worry about it. I'm fortunate in that regard. :D

what the hell are you buying? a new pv a week? geez thats more than ive spent altogether lol

can i have your old equipment? haha

Actually, most newcomers can expect to spend a lot more getting started up on ecigs than they think. That's because there are a lot of variables in choosing the best ecig/juice combination for you. And of course, we are talking about brand new technology. It will improve as time goes on, just like computers. There is strong motive to keep up with the latest and greatest designs. I already have a bunch of short 510 batteries I'm not using because the megabatts made them obsolete.

And like myself, many of us started out insisting on tobacco flavors, then gradually opened up to candy/fruit flavors. A perfect vape for each might involve owning and maintaining at least two types of ecigs.

I posted this thread a short while ago. It might help you understand some things to consider so you might at least avoid vaping what you don't want:
