okay I tried it and where the wrap is had a much better result, however, the wire popped right where it stopped. I noticed you have a heavier gauge. I will purchase the 28 gauge tomorrow and see how it responds. Thanks.

yes you should start with higher resistance. 1 ohm is still very low for beginners. when you get about 1.4-2 you in the range of VV devices and you can lower the voltage so everything will be easier. to much to fast is not good. good luck

You are either shorting or over-amping the wire. If you KNOW you have the positive and ground leads wired correctly, you are over-amping (either too much voltage or too little resistance). I don't know about your rig - just electricity in general.

dont do that twist thing.... it doesn't actually help, its just a band-aid solution.
your wick is shorting and will short out regardless if you "twist" the top lead.

you improperly oxidized your wick, and it is shorting as soon as the wire touches the wick.

pulsing, is something we do to get rid of the short....
you are holding it down for too long, and pop the coil.

you have as much help on this thread, as anyone will ever be able to give you.
If you havent been able to get it by now, take a step back, and find someone locally that can help you.
you are liable to hurt yourself, and i think should seek assistance with an experienced vaper in person.

maybe rebuildables just aren't for you
