So, upon achieving 5000 signatures... then what? What is the intended goal of such a petition? What is the action of the Obama administration to "Recognize" expected to be? "Support job creation" how? Contact whom upon acknowledgement of the petition?

A petition for governmental action should be very specific about what such action should be. I'm not trying to naysay. The support -- or quite frankly, simple lack of interference -- of the federal government is important for this emerging industry. However, the "appropriate policy experts" are quite likely to be among the ranks of the FDA, and simply drawing attention without a clear plan of action has the potential to backfire.

:2c:any conversation that happens because the gov starts to see there are people who want a more serious look at the positive effects of ecigs would be a start. it opens the door for our politicians to become educated on the real facts, and counters some of the myths they've been fed

Don't forget to Oppose this one with pleasure too!! If we can get so much p*ss & vinegar behind this, lets get that same spark against S.1403 trying to put the same taxes on PVs that traditional tobacco cigarettes have. Its apples to oranges! OPPOSE & let them know what you think! Your comments go to your representatives!

i'm sure that you could use those wits to get them legit:p i'd hate to see the whole thing dumped b/c of some grey matter

Oh the names are definitely legit, and the petition requires an email address as the signature, which is where things get a little grey (mass email and account creation by the use of automated software) ;)
