So a few weeks ago I decided to stop by a B&M store that I pass by almost everyday. I almost went into shock from their prices. I understand that prices will be higher because they need to cover rent, paying employees, and whatnot, but I think double the prices is a little outrageous. Examples: $53 for a simple (no brand) eGo battery, $65 for a 900 mah Twist, $65 for a Spinner, and $20 for a vivi nova with 2 replacement heads. Their juices prices are barely ok: $7 for 10 mls, but I may pay that in case of an emergency.

Is this normal for other B&M stores?

I would say that those prices are typical of most B&M's in my area. I typically pay $20 for 30mls of juice to support my local B&M every once in a while but normally buy the same thing online for $6. Vivi Nova's are $18 with 2 replacement heads. I was a little outraged last week when I went in and saw they were now carrying the mini novas for $14.99 which I buy online for $6.99 but some people are willing to pay for that convenience

while I love to keep local B&M in buisiness, I refuse to pay any outrageous prices. I would speak with your wallet. Maybe they want to stay in buisiness and will lower prices to a reasonable level. Our store here in Tyler Tx has prices very similar to what you find at many onlines places. We may be fortunate here, and I like it that way

CardSwiping is a little more secure than entering in your CC info into a website that may or may not be legitimate (or redirected due to malware).

Instant gratification is a tax I am willing to pay to a certain extent. Plus at a B&M, I know exactly what I am getting. chances of being scammed is less likely. I am guaranteed to get a product that is not damaged due to USPS negligence. I am able to physically handle the product and at the very least see it before I make a purchase.

Another thing a B&M offers is a tasting or juice bar. There are many companies that carry many different juices, and even the simplest of juice flavors. How many different Strawberries are there out there? And out of those, how many are you going to love?

The prices at the B&M stores local to me are pretty reasonable. Of course they are higher than online stores, but that is due to being a physical storefront. I do believe I am blessed because I live in an area that is swarming with Vape stores and I believe that is what is keeping prices competitive. Example: I see eVics being sold online anywhere around 100-105. The store I bought them at was 110, and they offer a $10 off voucher everytime I hit 100 at their stores. In that scenario, I bought 2, one for me and one for the wife. I would gladly pay a 5% markup for box in hand at time of purchase.

Juices on the otherhand, can be highway robbery, but I crunched the numbers and find the convenience to be worth the cost. If I have a dumb moment and run dry on juice, a 10 min drive will satisfy my need for more. The ability to try different variety of brands and flavors cuts down on the guessing game. I trust the reviews on juices here, but one user's or many user's opinion on a specific cherry flavor may not be agree with my senses.

There are benefits to B&M stores, but yeah, I hear stories of stores located on not so accessible areas or low density areas that rob their customers blind. I am glad I live in Southern California.

I've never bought equipment from my local, but I've shopped it and they're high compared to online. I do buy juice there though. They sell 5mls for $4.00, 12mls for $9.00, and 20mls for $16.50. There're a few other B&Ms around, but I've only been to the one. I'm lead to believe that the others have better priced juices, but I just love my shop's juices too much.

We have quite a few B&M's in my area. Two of them are in flea markets and have prices that actually beat a lot of online prices. One has a shop and a website. Prices are the same at both and reasonable. The other, which is the one I got started at, is the biggest rip-off around. It's a beautiful store that rivals a fancy cigar shop and the customer service is top notch, but the prices are insane. A starter kit with 2 Smoov cigalikes, charger, and a 5 pack of cartos is 100 bucks. The iTaste MVP is $120. Juice is 10 bucks for 10 mil, with vendors like Pink Spot, Flavorz by Joe, and Vixen. The place is constantly busy though.

Ravensfan, We started because of a B&M in the Wesminster Mall. Once we had our starters, friends of ours went to the flea markets to get theirs. I recently found out there was two other B&Ms in the area, one being on Ft Smallwood Rd and the other in Ellicott City. Ive heard there was one in Reisterstown, but havent been in the area to check it out.

I've only been to one local store, simply because there is only one...

I personally think their prices are a little high, but not outrageous. My issue is that most of the stuff they carry isn't very good quality. The clearomizers especially are cheap chinese junk that have taught me to test at store before leaving- often not working at all, and then once home, not working for long. I WANT to support them, they seem like nice people, but when I buy online from trusted vendors, I get quality name-brand product that works, and keeps working, and for the same prices if not a little less.

The B&M juices are also weak IMO and way pricey, roughly $1 per ml for american and about $0.75 per ml for chinese. Neither I cared for much ... so I had started DIY and am much happier and broke down my costs (in another thread, trying to remember now lol) - I think it was something like $0.03 per ml.. about $0.15 a day for juice :) Can't beat that!

I prefer to support my local businesses.....but I draw the line at blatant rip offs.

El Cheapo common CE4 - $2.95 online; $12.95 at B&M.
30 ml quality juice - $15 online (depends what/where); $24.95 B&M
Generic eGo 900mAh - $12 online (even less); $39.95 B&M
Replacement coils - $10 for 5 pack ($2 ea) online; $6.95 EACH at B&M.

Sorry, but no friggan way.

I would NEVER support a local B&M just because they are a vape store. I'm not in the business of helping others businesses out of the kindness of my heart, and neither should anyone else be. What allows a business to thrive, is having a niche, competitive pricing, availability, and good customer service. If the local B&M has those, I would be ALL means support them.

Having a bit higher price due to being a physical storefront is acceptable, however, the prices mentioned in the OP is not. Some of the other prices others have mentioned in this thread seem doable though!

The one in Reisterstown is the one I'm talking about with the high prices, although they do have great customer service and the store is super nice. I don't know if that's worth paying double for though. It's called VapeXcape. I will still buy small items and juice from them, but I won't pay double for a mod. The one in Ellicott City is called Vape Dojo. Nice little store, but frequently out of stock of mods and batteries. They do have a website with the same prices as in store, and that will give you an idea as to what they have in stock before making the trip. If you like Alice in Vapeland juice, they do carry it, but you can only buy it in store. The one on Ft. Smallwood is called Vaper's Knoll. They don't have too much in the way of mods, but they make their own juice while you wait, and I have to say it is my favorite juice. Their Oba Oba is my ADV. They also sell online.
