I am set to receive my Modern Vapor 902 starter kit tomorrow, and will be attempting to use it to quit smoking for good. I will be posting in this thread to track my progress. Feel free to post encouragements, or ignore this thread. I hope to be analog free by August 12th(my bday).

On a side note, my first experience with modern vapor was excellent. Their customer service has to be the best I have ever experienced from a website. Sunday night around 10:30, I mistakenly place an order for the sidesho starter kit. I wanted the bigger of their two models, and quickly realized after reading some posts here, that I had ordered the wrong model. I sent an Email to MV around 11:15pm sunday night to inform them that I wanted to make the switch to my order. Within minutes I received an email back stating that my order had been changed, and they were not even going to charge me the couple extra bucks that the 902 kit costs.

You won't be "attempting" to quit cigarettes Brick. You WILL do it! And after two or three days of vaping your going to be surprised at how easy it is to quit cigarettes.

There will be a few frustrations and you'll have some questions, but come to this Forum to get the information you need. We're here to help and cheer you on to success.

Good luck on your venture and welcome to ECF. I stopped smoking after getting a PV and I smoked a very long time.

Thanks for the support guys. I am turning 28 years old and started smoking moderately when I was 14. I probably smoked 0-10 cigs a day until about a year ago. I suddenly started putting away a pack a day for no apparent reason, and if I go out and drink all night I could easily put another pack down the pipes. I can tell that this has affected my lungs, and overall health. I'm hoping this will put me back on track for a more active lifestyle. It's hard to go out and play bball, or go on a long hike through the woods if you can hardly breath.

Brick, I ordered an ego last week, rec'd it yesterday, and quit smoking. Just like that.

My last cigarette was Sunday night, without a trace of cravings/regret/anything since. I'm vaping a 5ml sample of Cashcap juice from puresmoker that doesn't taste at all like cigarettes (PAD marlboro red smoker), and I don't miss them - in particular the taste - at all.

Good luck!

ETA: I thought I'd need a tobacco-replacement-flavor, too. Turns out, not so much.

I did the exact same thing, got my 902 yesterday, and am quite thrilled with it.
The tobacco flavor it comes with tastes (to me anyway) rather like a lite cigarette so it might work for you. I have tried the cigar flavor as well and it might do you.
Get a wall charger and some extra batteries like right now. If your a heavy smoker you'll tear through a battery in about an hour. and they take a couple hours to charge.
best of luck, let me know if you like the auto or manual batteries better.

great advice blackwalk. Anybody have suggestions for juice that tastes most like marlboro lights or parliament lights? Those have been my smokes of choice for a while now.
There is no juice that tastes like a cigarette, because it is pretty hard to replicate the taste of burning chemicals and plant matter. Any tobacco flavors you get will taste more like unburnt tobacco smells.

But fret not, you don't need to bother trying to replicate what you used to smoke.

All you need to do is find something new that you like better.
Just about any flavor you try will fill that bill.
:)

Best suggestion is to get some samples with various kinds of flavors, including some tobaccos.
Eventually you'll find what you really like, and there's no telling what it will be.

I believe that the kit I order came with a usb charger with a A/C adapter. I also have a car charger that has both A/C and USB ports:). I plan on ordering a few of the manual batteries when they get the color I want back in. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Welcome and good luck Brick. You will find that not only are you making a huge step towards a healthier lifestyle but you are taking up a new hobby. Much like someone who loves fine wine, beer, cigars, etc. You will find yourself letting go of the "needs to taste like a cigarette" rather quickly. You will eventually like most of us end up liking the various fruit flavors and learn the intricate differences in (battery power, atomizer models, drip vs cart, juice box ... etc) Don't worry about spending money on the different toys you will want because eventually you will be saving money over cigs.

With the amount I smoke and the cost of cigs where I live, I should break even within two weeks. If you count the other little things I buy when stopping at store to buy cigs(drinks, snacks, etc.), it will probably be sooner than that. Each extra battery I order, or new flavor bottle costs about as much as a pack of smokes in my area. BTW, that is a pretty pit in your pic. I myself am partial to american bulldogs. I am a dog trainer by occupation, and love working with bully breeds.

Update at the end of my first day with my MV 902.
I smoked 1 analog today before I got my MV 902 in the mail. I had half a pack when I received it in the mail. I was happy to find that the batteries were charged when I received them. So I did not have to wait to start using it. I went to work and left my pack of analogs at home. I managed to go all day with out bumming a smoke off of somebody at my work. Almost everyone in the place smokes. Thanks to my 902, I didn't really ever get the urge for an analog. Someone that didn't know that I was trying to quit, actually bought me a pack of marlboro lights to thank me for covering their shift on Saturday. lol. I gave them away to somebody else who was disappointed that I didn't have a pack a smokes on me earlier in the day. I got home and saw my open pack sitting on the table. I couldn't fight it. I went out back on my porch and lit one up. To my surprise I could only get about 1/4 of the way threw it before I put it out. I almost felt guilty, like I was cheating on the 902. It also just couldn't compare to the taste of the pineapple and cherry cola flavored juice I had been smoking on all day. I LOVE THIS THING!!!!! My total wouldd have been 1/4 total for the day if I had the 902 when I woke up!! I didn't buy a pack for the first time in probably a year.

$6 bucks saved
18 3/4 cigs not smoked

Sweet Brick! Keep it up and don't beat yourself up if you slip and have a smoke. That's how it happened for me a few times but I've beaten smokes after using my 510 and trying some tasty new juices. Try 555 and RY4 or some of the nutty tobacco variations. They are great.

I have used the PV to get off smokes and at the same time made an effort to get in better shape. I've dropped 26 lbs. since Memorial Day while quitting smoking. You can do it too. Good luck!
