if people are having issues getting the bridge out without pulling up on the whole atty, take a small xacto and cut the mesh right at the foot/legs of the bridge, the mesh will pull right off. i didn't do a video for this because it seems with 1 small mistake you can kill the whole unit cutting. but try it if ur having problems. i'm going to post pics of step by step so ppl understand what ur to pull off and what you are NOT wanting to.

If you are lacking an xacto knife (as I am) you can try gently twisting the mesh at the base with your tweezers. This works really well for me without loosening the unit...

yeah i de-wicked it for sure.

i bent out the paper clip to have one side with a bent L shape to use as a kind of hook and just pushed the mesh off to the side. the other end i just bent the curve down more narrow so it gave it more "grab". once i used the hook to pull the with material out, it stuck to the metal wall of the atty housing. then flipped the paper clip and used the bend to pull it all the way out against the wall. then packed the mesh down and out of the way of the coil. seriously took 5 min. but now that ive done it i think i can mod an atty in 3 or less haha.

I was at the office reading this and did it with a paper clip in a couple mins too with a LR 510 on an eGo! I pushed the mesh to the side, wiggled out the bridge and then wiggled out the mesh. It couldn't have been quicker or easier.

Great 2 minute mod!! More vapor and flavor! Nice!!! I wonder why it give so much more flavor. I like it!!

hmmmmm... my pump mod pumps juice into a cart... maybe now I have to make it drip so I can go bridgeless and have the benefits w/o the hassle of dripping.

edit: WOW! This gives a whole new reason for dripping. It's an enhanced vaping experience! I wasn't big on dripping but will doing it more now!

carts suck! i killed lr atties with carts because it didn't wick fast enough. wicking is bs. don't understand why all atties have to have a bridge. i can dry burn soo much easier flavor taste better. i don't waste juice to wicking. 901's stay working great and bridge less they seem to hold juice better without leaking! knock on wood i haven't ruined an atty with this procedure. thank you soo much for introducing this to me

For the one I thought I screwed up, I pushed the whole innards down tight into the shell. It's working better now.

I'll probably try this bridge removal mod again sometime, but probably not until I have an atty that I know is completely dead or foul tasting and won't come back to life with a good cleaning. I'll also be careful not to loosen the works that I'm not removing too much. This may be a fine mod for drippers, but I can't say from my limited experience.

ok guys after a week or so of trial and error with wicks, here is what ive found, DO: take the main wick out that is directly under the bridge, DO NOT:pull the little tiny wick out of the coil, now that i have left one in the coil ive had one going a week, and the wick is still as white as it was on day one, without the wick i could kill them in a matter of hours.

just FYI and an opinion.

When I clean mine I do dry burns. I wonder if that burns the little wick inside up. I have a couple I have cleaned and dry burned at least 3 times. They are still going strong. I guess I should get a magnifying glass and check it out.

cr12,

You do know that all attys don't have any wicks directly under the bridge, don't you? But, I do have one that does.

Just FYI if you didn't know.

The atty will never get hot enough to burn away the wicking material.

When I say about de-wicking, I never said to pull the wick out of the coil, just where the bridge is. IDK why ppl assume you would remove the wick from inside the coil... that's just silly and tedious to do, and a sure way to kill an atty,

Since the holidays are coming...I'm wondering if I could take an outside Christmas bulb, saw off the tippity top (I watch a lot of wubzy with the kids)...fill it with about 20ml of juice...and see how them coils produce...(btw, I'm kidding disclaimer wise).

OR...since T day is coming...

I wonder if we can make a vapor power hitter out of a giant baster...

I debridged my atty for the first time and really enjoy the taste and vape. Can anyone share how they clean a debridged atty please?

Thanks a bunch...

Hey smiley... I have tried a lot of methods and I like this the best. No chemicals, and it is pretty easy. With no bridge you can see the coils glowing easily. Do the procedure twice for best results. Just be careful not to get the coils too hot... some people have popped atomizers that way. For this reason, I would also recommend keeping the atomizer away from your face when you do the dry burns. You don't want exploding metal coil fragments in your eyes.

Personally, I have never damaged an atomizer doing this and the results are very good... the atomizer is almost like new afterwards.

highping's cleaning technique:

For really clogged or stubborn atomizers, I will sometimes use 99% isopropyl alcohol to clear gunk out before using the highping method.

When I clean my debridged atties. I always soak in Iso Alcohol (IA) for about 10 mins. Let dry in front of my space heater for about 5 and dry burn that yucky taste off :)

You can also use distilled water, but allow PLENTY of dry time. If you want to speed up the drying, use a blowdyer on low heat for about 5 mins or set in front of a space heater for about 10. Otherwise, if you are going to air dry, when I say plenty, I mean at least 4 hours when it comes to water.

Other people have used: Vinegar, Crest Toothpaste, Pure Grain Alcohol, Coca Cola, and Denture cleaning tabs.

It's all up to what you like. For me IA and water work best, as well as dry burns.
