I dry burn after rinsing a few times with really hot water. No waiting for it to dry since it's got a built in "dryer". Plop a few drops of liquid on it and vape away. My atties are always like new after doing this. Basically the same method King posted a link to. Rinse, burn, rinse, burn, vape. Amazing the difference. My LR atties have also lasted over 2 months with a good cleaning when the draw gets stiff. (Averages out to about once a week or once every couple weeks). Oh, and mine is debridged too! :)

I have found with de-bridged, de-wicked attys and yes I pull all the wick, coil also. I dont have to clean them as often. The one I use on my VV ali'i has been on it since Nov 1st after coming off my buzz and it still has shown me no loss in performance. 22 days strong w/o full cleaning... (one flavor also) When they do fall off I descale them in hot white vinegar then rinse N burn. I have had my attys last 4 months doing this so far. Since July 31'st I have lost 2 attys total 1 510 still bridged and 1 901 debridged w/wick still in it.

I do blow them out daily and give a VERY lite dry burn. Not glowing full red for any period of time.

Once you remove the mesh and bridge, You can run the atty dry really fast, and you get an "over-the-top" burnt taste that feels like a toothpick on fire was just shoved down your throat. Of course YMMW, and this is my opinion, which might not even be accurate, but that's how I felt and that is the way I saw it when I was tasting burnt liquid where as before (when the mesh and bridge where there) it didn't taste as bad, or dry out as fast.

This was my experience as well. Glad I'm not the only one that felt this way. If I do anything, I'll de-wick after the atty gets old, but nothing more.

I'm having a problem with my de-bridged attys. My LR510s work really with the bridge for a few days then I get a stiffer draw and greatly reduced throat hit. I've tried various cleaning methods to no avail. So I decided about a week ago to try de-bridging them. It does help the throat hit alot but it seems that the flavor is very diluted. Not sure how to describe it but with the bridge I get a good full flavor and without it's almost like vaping straight PG/VG with just a slight after hint of the flavor. I've also tried the Cisco LR306s but the TH and vapor production seem much less than a new LR510. I have to take very long draws to get any TH at all. Any advice???

P.S. I have some LR510 Cartomizers on the way going to see if they are my holy grail.

So Cal
Just popped out the wick and the bridge on my L88B atty....

Results:

(Using a 510 usb passthrough)

Similar Vapor
Similar Taste (A little better just cus I think the wick tasted bad, maybe?)
Juice Seems to Burn Quicker (Although I won't really know until I see how long 10ml last)
Hot Juice Pops into Mouth (Only twice and I think this could be due to too much liquid)

All and all... I think my hopes were set too high with all the great reviews. Regardless, it was simple and took about 2 minutes with a paper clip. Didn't ruin the atty so that's good...

How important is cleaning the atty to this process? Or is it perhaps my hardware that is limiting my results...

I've de-wicked/bridged my atty and now the liquid is coming out the bottom. It's like there's a hole in the bottom of the ceramic and it's going straight through. I noticed the ceramic inside is round and not rectangle like some of my other attys. Why is it leaking? The coil gets hot but there's no liquid to burn. Do the round ceramic not hold liquid?

If you are too rough when pulling out the bridge or the mesh, it is possible to make your atomizer leaky. I have found that the guts of the atomizer can come loose during the debridging process. This happens when too much pressure is applied tugging on the bridge or the mesh. You can try to gently push the ceramic coil enclosure down to reseat the atomizer assembly to the base. Also, if too much mesh is ripped out, there will not be enough to maintain a good seal between the ceramic part and the atomizer wall. I have had some success in gently pressing the mesh down to help seal up any leaks I might have created.

Basically, try to be very careful when debridging. If the parts inside the atomizer are loosened at all, leaking may result. If you try to fix the leaking, be gentle!

Good god, this is more than a TH multiplier, its a full on chest explosion! I just tried it on a brand new, cleaned before use, 510 atty from Volcano eCig's Magma line (it took me several tries to get the drips right and it REALLY helps using the anodized drip tips Volcano sells) and I almost feel like my chest is going to cave in! This is EPIC!!!

ahahah @Qverb, glad ur lovin it!

I do this to ALL of the atties I'm using, I do have a few that aren't incase my girl plans on using them. She likes carts and cartos, but as of late, she's been using my CE2s :)

I've noticed after you drip say like 3 or 4 times, it only takes 2 drips on re-dripping when it runs low.

Okay... I think I have come up with a better way of debridging and dewicking atomizers. I have done this twice and I feel like it puts a lot less stress on the atomizer while avoiding leaks/loosening the atomizer from the housing. I will try to be as clear about this as possible.

You need sturdy, straight tweezers that are not made of soft metal for this. You will also need a blunt tip hypo needle or something strong and thin, about the same size as well. You need to have a steady grip and a well-lit countertop area.

1. Stand the atomizer on a counter, threads down. Grip it firmly with one hand, holding it in place against the counter.

2. Hold the tweezers in your other hand, the dominant one. Position yourself so that you can look straight down into the atomizer.

3. Using the the tweezers, grab onto the nickel foam mesh that covers the uppermost tip of the bridge from both sides. By sides, I mean the edges along the open sides of the bridge. Pinch the mesh together. It will look like a little silver bowtie on top of the bridge.

4. Holding the mesh thusly, make sure that the tips of the tweezer are touching the exposed steel bridge. This will be the flat top of the bridge. Press down with the tweezers. This will keep the bridge and entire atomizer pressing down onto the counter. Carefully twist the tweezers until the mesh splits right at the top of the bridge.

5. Push the two loose strips of mesh to the sides of the housing, fully exposing the smooth metal bridge.

6. Next, use the blunt tip needle (or another tool) to gently push down on the atomizer itself. Don't push on the coils. Try to push gently on the ceramic and hold the atomizer in the standing position on the counter with one hand.

7. You can now use your other hand to pull the bridge straight out with tweezers while holding the guts firmly in place. This keeps the atomizer from loosening in the housing! Also pushed the extra flaps of mesh down into the two cavities vacated by the atomizer posts.

I came up with this little trick so I did not have to worry about pushing the bridge around and pulling the atomizer up and down in the housing. The atomizers I have done this on do not have any more leaks than an untouched atomizer. They also seem to wick extremely well. If you are having bad luck with the traditional technique, consider trying this.

I watched the video about 3 weeks ago, and with only didn't want to take a chance. So it sat in the back of my mind but made me wonder about it constantly as I only drip.

I made a mix at home with some Loranns Chocolate Hazelnut... well lets just say first vape on the reg atty was aweful... I thought it will get better, but after about 10 vapes, it was just as bad. I washed the atty and tried my daily vape in it... All I could taste was that awful burned nut taste. I was really upset as this was my only atty... how stupid I thought to myself.

So, WTH... lets' debridge this piece of crap since it's no good anymore anyway. I followed the video tutorial, dropped it on the 510 batt, and hit it with my daily vape. WOW!!! not only was the crappy taste of burned nuts gone, the vapor produces was amazing!!! I had more flavor than before and better TH!!! What more can you ask for?

Seriously, if you haven't tried this yet, and enjoy dripping, it is a MUST, be careful, but once you have been successful, you will see that this will be a regular process and will be vaping bridgless everytime!!!

Thanks for the TIP!!! I'm Mc Lovin' it!!!

I did this with a LR 510 atty last week. After two days of use my brand new atty had a horrible burnt taste and when I examined it, the wick seemed to be the culprit. So with a pair of tweezers and some patience, I got rid of the bridge/wick. I should note, that I hadn't seen a tutorial video at this point and I almost pulled the coil out of the housing. Thankfully everything slid back into place with no damage.

So far, I have more LR dripping experience without the bridge than with the bridge. The main plus for me is the horrible burnt taste is gone and the drops go directly to the coil without interference. Does anybody know if suppliers sell bridgeless atomizers yet?

Greenhouseone.com has some bridgeless 510s. Not sure if someone else has mentioned this, Tim may have beat me to the punch already.
