The adventure continues ... As I suspected would be the case, the DIY juices I like best so far are the ones where the "Y" is mostly silent. In other words, the manufacturer has already bottled the basic flavor I'm after and all I'm doing is adding my nic base. Of these, my favorite is a mix of 5% honey flue tobacco, 5% honey and about 1 drop of EM per ml. As an afterthought, I also added @1% vape Wizard - more about that in a minute.

I'm happy with the basic flavor. It's not layered or nuanced or complex, it's just honey, and that's more or less what I was after. On the other hand, it's definitely missing something. The honey flue that I'm trying to approximate (I lack the confidence to say 'duplicate' at this point) has a "brighter," crisper flavor that reminds me of citrus, although there is no discernible citrus flavor at all. I've noticed that a couple of sites offer citric acid, and I'm wondering if that is the missing element. Can anyone give a quick primer on the use of citric acid or offer other tips on how to make a flavor "brighter?"

Also, as I mentioned above, I added some VW a couple of days after mixing the initial batch. The 1% is a guess cuz I didn't write it down and I don't remember (I know, I know), but it would not have been more that 1 drop per ml, and it was probably less than that. At any rate, it seems to have added a peppery quality to the mix that I wasn't expecting, and I'm wondering if that's just my perception of it or if it's "supposed" to taste that way. Has anyone else had that experience with VW?

And one last question while I'm at it: are VW and Smooth more or less the same thing?

Thanks.

Edit: Bottle of Smooth just came in the mail this evening. Pretty obvious that the answer to that last question is "no."

Edit again: Turns out, there are many, many threads discussing the use of citric acid, so I'm good on that subject. Would still appreciate any other ideas, though.
