Hey guys

I know this must be a very common and irritating question but please bear with me I've searched all over Google and have had very mixed answers. If i'm bringing over my vape setup from nz will I have any issues going through customs? My brother is in Singapore at the moment and I'm flying out tomorrow and he's said he's seen at least 6 tourists vaping in public while he's been there. He's approached each of them and asked how they got it in and they all said they didn't have any hassles whatsoever. Also is there any chance of me being fined if they discover my vape setup in my hand carry? Can I plead ignorance?

Thanks

So once you bring a vape in even if it's your first offense and you were "unaware" of the new rule would you still get a fine? Or get them confiscated? I can deal with a chance to get it confiscated but not keen on a huge fine

Vaping is totally illegal now in Singapore. Even possession can land you in some pretty hot water, resident or not. It's highly doubtful that claiming ignorance of the local laws will give you any leeway. If you're going to risk it, don't take your best gear with you. Take some cheap eGo type batteries and cheap clearomizers.

Your best bet is to just leave it at home and tough it out while you're visiting.

Getting yourself familiar with the rules and regulations of the country you are planning to visit considered your duty, so I don't think you can get away with "unaware"
If your luggage will be searched at customs you will for sure say goodbye to your gear and liquid. If the amount of gear falls under personal consumption chances are you won't be fined.
Public vaping is subject to a fine.
You can check if you're able to convince the authorities but I wouldn't recommend, really. You have good chance to become another public case in papers.
It isn't worth 10K fine + possibly 6 months in jail is it?

Wow is it really a 10k fine + possibly 6 months jail time for vaping supplies that's only for personal use?

Dear @ShaolinSmokeTricks

It's not about personal usage or for "business"

When you put stuff into your luggage to bring it over to another place. It's called importation. It is true that any importation, distribution or sales of vaping gear will result in a fine UP TO 10k sgd AND/OR a jail term UP TO 6 month.

You may get a lighter punishment, you may get a heavier one or heck, you might even get away scot free. But it's a risk you have to take if you plan to vape in our sunny island.

You may have to tough it out depending on how strong you are against your craving.

Cheers

don't bring larrr...... come here then look for sellers buy a cheap setup then dispose/sell when you go away...... no matter how much the sellers sell you, its still gonna be cheaper than 10k

if he know where to find that is yes cheaper but overprice done the less....
If you just in Sg for a stopover just go analog save you all the trouble.
