Is this normal? I've been vaping AGA's for a while and just forgot about this. I broke it out as I'm going to give it to a friend and I was amazed at the flavor difference. My AGA's taste DEAD compared to this.

Some people do prefer the taste of cartos and carto tanks over other delivery systems. I had horrible experiences with Boge cartos being hit or miss on if they would even work right out of the box. So I have mainly been using BCCs and rebuilding the heads. I like being able to control the build quality of the coils. Which is something you just can't do with a carto.
I have noticed that the things that taste good have a small diameter - at least where the coil is. Whether cheap or expensive, doesn't seem to matter as much. I don't have an AGA but it has a big open top cap like my IGO-L, IGO-W and RSST - all of which have really muted flavor. They make tons of vapor but my little ego-sized cyclone clone gives way better flavor. The kayfun encloses the coil in a really tiny space and the flavor from that is amazing. My cisco spec 510s have good flavor but not as good as the kayfun or cyclone clone . .and I think this is due to silica vs cotton.
Funny that you say that. I ALSO have a clove tobacco that i really like, and I ALSO don't like it nearly as much in anything other than a Protank. (but for me it's the protank2) don't like to drip it, son't like it in the aqua, don't like it in a carto tank...
I've had a similar experience with my stuff. When I have to break out my Tatroe Protanks when I have to travel. My normal set up is a Kayfun, Taifun GS or GT and love them. When I have to "downgrade" to the Protanks, I'm surprised how much I like them. They aren't as full and rich as the others but they provide a more genuine "smoke" like experience.
