I should note that I did it on an evod core, which is more restrictive than a protank core to begin with.

Yeah, that could where the difference is.

Are you using it in a ProTank or Evod? And does the draw on the same tank with a normal head draw differently on the same mod?

I've run mine in a ProTank, and the draw was the normal, slightly too airy draw common with the ProTank. In my Billet Box tank atty mod, there is no screw in 510 base, and the draw is looser still.

IDK then dr g.

Headed to the workbench, AKA dining room table to build five of em. Let you know if I run into one that pulls tight.

I have Evods, ProTanks, ARO, and the Billet Box atty. Probably won't get to mess with all of the different platforms tonight, but will be on the lookout for a solution if I run into a tight draw.

Evod. It is more restrictive than stock. Personally I have been looking for ways to increase airflow through kanger cores to near RDA levels, I'm looking to run fairly high power through them.

I used a 1/16 drill bit and reamed out the positive pin until it fit loosely on the bit. Didnt really make much difference though. I need something between a 1/16 and 5/64.

Had some flooding today, but looking at the reference picture, I think I didn't stuff enough cotton, also, I didn't extend mine outside the chamber area, kinda like how the default wick pokes out...

Gonna give it another go tonight, this time, gonna really stuff the thing, the fact that I'm able to crank my wattage close to my RBA tells me that this is an awesome solution... :)

Hey I'm new to micro coils myself. Whipped out three of these bing bam boom...then 2 fails in a row lol. Fails in that the micro coils had dead zones and came in at 1.2-1.5ohms. Took me an hour remaking the &^&(#! thing to get it right lol.

First coil still rocking with superb flavor after 10ml's of use. Vaping newly made tankful of Night Light Vapor Gold while I type. Sweet nectar of the gods good!:vapor:

In the process of converting all of my gear to this. Need more wire lol. Might try and see if I can cram a 28ga coil in here just for kicks.

Planned on pulling the first one apart to see how the coil and filler looks after 10mls. Think I'll wait till I empty the 30ml bottle first. Working to good to mess with.

Hit upon a similar thing after hanging out in the "dragon nano" thread and seeing ITEOs builds. Using it on my Russian, most intense bottom coil/bottom air:toast: vape ever, hands down. :toast:

Been scoping that thread out this evening Cyrus. Air inside, wick outside on a micro coil is a real game changer.

See you where having a bit of that volcano action too. Had that with my first build on a 20ga needle, but has been no problem with the 18ga. About the same as the 3/64 bit you're using.

Wonder what factory in china runs with this first. Hell they've been making micro coils for a long time. Just wimpy ones wrapped in a bunch of useless stuff lol.

My newest build was on a 1.5 mm metric bit, 26g nichrome, still volcanic as all hell but no issues. The flavor is out of control with this coil man! Remember back in our pheonix days man? I could never get bottom coils to make me happy. Turns out all I had to do was turn the coil 180 degrees and run that wick in reverse lol :)

Wondering, just purchased many pre-made nr-r-nr wire for my Magoo (ithaka clone). Could I use that wire on a build like this? Would it be helpful?

Nope. There's not enough resistance wire to make the micro coil with enough wraps.

Good news is one of the amazing things about the micro coil technique is reduced hot legs. Even so, with this design, the legs are imbedded in the saturated filler as well, so not only are NR legs not needed, they're not desirable.

Good time to add. Before adding in the cotton, check the coil ohms. Also dry fire the coil. The coil should glow immediately and evenly. If not, redo it.
