Part one of your question is that is likely condensation. If it was juice, she would know it. This commonly happens when you take a drag off the ProTank and don't clear it completely, leaving vapor in the atomizer and that turns to condensation. This can also happen on the battery and people can commonly mistake it for juice when it is not.

The juice would come through the drip tip and be very bitter and nasty with a slight hint of the flavor you are using but that would happen with flooding of the atomizer.

It is good practice to have a napkin or paper towel handy and twist it tight enough to clean out or blow the drip tip out into with it off the atomizer.

Not sure why she is unhappy now but if you can clarify, someone can help.

I recently dissembled my mum's pro tank mini 2 to clean it. Since I dissembled it, she can hear bubbles in the drip tip. It is also rather airy compared to before; I followed the youtube videos, to dissemble it and put it back together again. She is not as happy with the performance anymore.

1: bubbling / gurgling
There's liquid down the center tube.
The gurgling comes from 1 or 2 spots:
a) just below the coil itself, the hole that goes down the center where the air has to come up has a droplet of liquid: changing the head stopps the bubbling.
b) the space between the atomizer spire and the center tube has some liquid and there is not a proper seal between the spire and the center tube. Cleaning the center tube with a qtip might stop the bubbling, but if the seal is not good you might have to flip the silicone cap on the atomizer to seal the space or add a second silicone cap.

2: airyness
Airyness is easy to reduce on the miniprotank; there are 2 pinholes for air on the base of the tank; just block one with a finger; if that's good, the block it more long term with scotch tape or a piece of toothpick.

I dill my airholes out very large; the cotton wicking reduces airflow too much to matter for me.

Thank you. She has experienced liquid spitting into her mouth at times, but not a large amount. I have also witnessed some liquid seeping out of the air holes and it is running out a lot quicker. She also feels as though the vapour and taste is not as strong as before.

It is also getting very heated at times.

She is using the 650 mAH battery. I was wondering whether upgrading to an Inokin MVP would enhance the taste.

It sounds like it might not have been screwed back together tight enough...

When you cleaned it, did you change or remove any of the wicking?

Sometimes the insulator on the bottom gets pushed up/squashed in between the coil housing and the metal plug and that can cause it to heat up.

Make sure the coil is screwed in tightly...it can come loose when you unscrew the bottom to refill.

She's is getting liquid in the drip tip because it is in the center chamber. Dry it out (I use a small piece of kleenex or paper towel) and make sure everything is screwed in tight.

The coil is flooding; the tank getting heated is also one of the symptons; it's like the coil is immersed in liquid and the coil is boiling the liquid and hence the heat is being transferred to the surrounding liquid and the whole tank is being heated.

When you clean the coils with soaking you can keep them going longer, but they tend to leak; my theory on that one is that when you keep using the coil, the wick tends to develop channels that the liquid is drawn though and the channels tend to widen.

The fix is to open up the coil; preferable dryburn the coil; then rewick the coil; I don't do a full rewick of my coils, I just take out the top wicks, and replace them with cotton; if you put too much cotton the airyness drops to zero when the cotton is wet. If you put too little cotton, the wick will start leaking sooner.

To check for a flooded coil, on any bcc, hold mouthpiece to ear and fire the button and you should hear the coil vaporising the liquid; a low burbling sound is a flooded coil; turn the tank upside down and listen - if the low burbling slowly changes to a low snap crackle pop! that tells you the coil was flooded and a drop or two of liquid is about to roll down the mouthpiece (probably not good to get nic in your ear)

Thank you. I have just changed the head and coil with a replacement - I did hear the crackle you described. Would it be wise to change the coil again?

I don't understand.

Did changing the coil make a difference or not?

If you are hearing the crackle that's how it is supposed to sound.

This is an aside, but you can get a truckload of 6" pipe cleaners from Amazon for about $5. When I add liquid I always run a pipe cleaner through the tube and give it a few turns. I also do it occasionally in between fills to clear out any condensation. However, it sounds like you've got a problem that is more serious than condensation building up in the tube. The more experienced vapers will need to help you work through that. Also, there are some helpful Youtube videos for dealing with run of the mill gurgling problems.

My Mini PT2 tend to burble and leak when it is low on juice. One thing that helps is to put a napkin or paper towel over the top with the drip tip removed (and the tank from the battery) and mark a sharp throwing motion a few times. You should see some juice on the napkin. Reassemble and vape away...and keep it full, they tend to work better that way. Also DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. It is as bad as not tightening it enough at all.

It might just be heating up from all the frequent firing from trying to work it.

If you have qtips cotton sticks things you can use that to dry the center tube otherwise you can use some tissue rolled with the fingers, but it isn't really critical;

the important thing is whether you hear the snapcracklepop and can vape on it; a little bubbling sound isn't going to affect performance itself, although it's a sign of liquid being inside the center tube; you can just use a qtip down the tube without dismanling the tank, and also, use some tissue to wipe the bottom inside of the tank base, and also on the top of the battery- especially on top of the battery; liquid inside the 510threadwell of the battery can cause a variety of symptoms, including bubbling sound.
